We need more people who are not afraid to express their feelings . Lets all let the polititions know that the few nut heads in this country can not take over
Sure wish I had a copy of that ad. Thank you for your penetrating words. God Bless you and bless you and bless you!
Blessed are the truthtellers, for they are a candle in the darkness.
Right on. Iam of the Jewish faith.I feel exactly as you do.I pray we can this going around the world.
RE comments from:- Date: 24 Sep 2005 Time: 16:42:52 Comments Anyway, thank you again for a beautiful site, but, please no more Political Issues here. I much prefer reading about miracles, angels, scriptures, Christ, God; I believe you see what I do like to read. ...................................................................................... Your first comments were spot on....but this one?????? For the World's sake, when all you Americans pull your heads out of the sand, then and ONLY then will something positive be achieved. You might like to read only all the nicey, nicey comments made on this site, very comforting.....but at the end of the day, unnecessary death and destruction, Government cover-ups and corruption are going on all around you, and what is being DONE about it???? I think there is a much BIGGER epidemic going on here, than Aids, Sars or Bird Flu (population culling)....and that's the Ostrich Syndrome. Highly contageous - and very dangerous - because, while your head's safe, the rest of you is fully exposed. My thanks to Steven and Becca for allowing ordinary concerned people to have their say. Life is NOT a box of chocolates, even though some people would like to think so. One Aussie.
THIS IS WONDERFUL, I WISH WE ALL COULD VOICE OUR OPINION THE WAY THIS MAN DID.WE CAN SPREAD THE WORD THROUGH SENDING OUT THIS MAIL ALL OVER THE WORLD. I AM DOING MY PART BY SENDING IT OUT TO MY ENTIRE ADDRESS BOOK, EVEN TO THE DEMOCRATS....PAT KENNAMER
Wow, you are quite the man and should be proud of your stand and also how you live...You are a good example of what a true American is...May God bless...I will be forwarding this to many - we need to spread the word... Thanks...

This is an excellent article. However, most of the comments listed could also apply to Democrats.
MrEsseff is a true American, like our wonderful President who is not afraid to publicly state his trust in God. Maybe these liberal Democrats need to stop[ undermining our President and try to stand beside himin his fight for America. Sincerely Joyce Atkins
It is about time someone told it like it really is. I to was a Democrat and am now a Republican. I am very proud of our President and all that he has done to protect our country. People seem to have no concept of what could be happening in our country if these terrorist are not stopped. Thank you for having the ad run. A Proud American
Oh, One MORE thing I am a Baptist! From the line of People whom the CATHOLICS have been KILLING and STILL KILLING! Another little Book that needs to be Read and Reread, The Trail Of Blood By J.M. Carroll 80% of our Leaders are Roman Chatholics! AND now America is watching another DEVOUT Killer being put in the HEAD seat of our Judiciary Office!! God BLESS America? He CANNOT! DO YOU REMEMBER WHY POEPLE CAME TO THIS COUNTRY?? G.W.'s ONE WORLD ORDER is HERE!!! Get READY to get your MARK! 666
What America needs to do is read and reread their Bible (KJav1611) Americas Book! Not the Trash put out by the Apostate Revisionists! And then get up on what is truely going on and has been going on in America, 3 Books by William P. Grady, Final Authority, What Hath God Wrought, and How Satan Turned America Against God. Yours In Christ Jesus, David M. Miller email@example.com But like all Americans Your too LAZY! You'll just set back and WATCH the Press SPIN their Lies!!
I am proud to be an American, I, too, believe strongly in God. I believe that everyone in this world, that was created by God, should take a long hard look around and see that, HE isn't happy with the things that are happening here. Thank you Steve and Becca for a beautiful site...I enjoy all of the poems, stories, pictures and the lovely music that is playing. I never was too much to voice my opinion on Political Issues...but...just this once I am going to say: I never liked the first President Bush and I sure don't like this one. President Clinton had the United States out of debt...He had good relations at the United Nations...I don't give two hoots what he did behind closed doors...That is none of my business, or anyone else's for that matter. Who can say that they have never sinned...in one way or another???????????? Anyway, thank you again for a beautiful site, but, please no more Political Issues here. I much prefer reading about miracles, angels, scriptures, Christ, God; I believe you see what I do like to read.
What I am is a former Republican who sat and watched our Secretary of State lie to the United Nations just like the President had been lying about the Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Today I watched as an Iraqi family left their home and moved to Jordan,it is no longer safe to even leave their house, we have made it a place of horror. For this we have given almost 2,000 of our best and brightest, and innumerable Iraqis have been killed as a result of our invasion of a country that was no threat to us.
Thank God for men like this who not only have the means but also the courage to voice his convictions loud and clear. This should be required reading for all liberal egotists who value only one opinion - theirs. May God Bless you - whoever you are. David Sellers - Texas
This is one man I would really like to meet, because I feel exactly the same way. I am so very tired of the "pro choice", "trash the name of our Presidents", "keep the name of God out of our schools", "disagree with everything decent", "take care of me, because I am too lazy to work" people that I meet every day and hear about on the TV, or read about in the paper. I served in World War 11 and was proud to do that, I am still proud of my country and I have lived here for 81 years. No, I am not rich, never had much, do not own a home, but the rent is decent and I get by and I still work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, and proud that I can do that too. How many others out there feel the same way? Jean Hubbard Davis hubbard_jean at yahoo.com
Re:- E Hughes' comment. Date: 30 Jul 2005 Time: 01:05:29 With you all the way E Hughes. One Aussie.
I opened this site to see if there had been anything written about the events unfolding around the New Orleans disaster...and what do I find??? Just a load of self-serving crap!!! Give the man a pat on the back...he's just too good to be true. And with the American Trilogy as background music...really tears at the heart strings. Sob!!! Narcissism in the highest form. (MY opinion and I'm entitled to it.) Who cares what political persuasion you are, the end result is the same. The poor get poorer, the rich get richer, and those who Govern at the time - are the winners. I was hoping to find that Americans had grown more informed on "what is REALLY happening" in their country (since the debacle in Iraq), but only found the same ole same ole stuff being said. Yes...I'm an Aussie, and don't tell me to butt out of your business, because what happens in America, affects every living Australian ... much to my disgust... so it IS my business. I'm not going to add any comments to this debate, as everybody's opinion is the RIGHT one, and it's a loose/loose situation for the common people every time. Wake up people...EVERY Government in EVERY land has corruption in it, no matter what political party owns it, and do it hiding behind God too. If we WERE ever to find out the real truth in politics, I doubt if we could live with that knowledge. I feel that I can speak for the majority of Australians when I say, what is happening in New Orleans is totally disgusting. We've walked on the moon (supposedly) and it takes 6 DAYS and counting !!! to get proper aid to New Orleans???? Please!!! You've not only got a religious war (is oil a religion?) to contend with, but maybe a racial one looming on the horizon. If I were living in America now, I'd be VERY afraid of the consequences to follow. Iraq almost divided your Nation, what's this going to do??? Shame shame shame on you Mr. President! ANOTHER nail in your self imposed coffin. And shame shame shame on our Government for sucking up to America. Everybody should be asking only one question (NOT blowing their own trumpet!)- "WHY IS ALL THIS HAPPENING?" - and then doing their best to find the truthful answer. WHAT 'I' AM is....One Aussie signing out.
I was so sorry seeing all "great message" notes and the references to thank God for our president. It makes me sad that we have so many people who don't get it! Who runs the companies, what are the political affiliations of the CEO's who cheat, destory companies, and wreck pension plans. Ask the bigger question, who does President Bush "hunt with", pal around with and what are Dick Cheny's ties to those same people and let's not forget good ole pal Karl. It is about listening, acting in fairness. Some of the most tragic events have been staged in the name of "God". Crusades were done in the name of God to spread "religion". We have a separation of church and state for very good reasons, we should keep it that way. Palm Springs, Ca
AMEN!!! Proud to be on the same side as a person such as the one who did this article! No one is perfect, however we would be in horrible shape at this moment if the last elections had been different. Thanks so much.
God bless this guy. I am a former democrat and I am repulsed by the actions of Mr Dean and the democratic left who control my once great party of Truman and Kennedy. Bravo to you sir, and I vote Republican more often than not and support our president in these dangerous times. Chuck O'Connell, FL
I agree with this man 100%. No one can be pleased with the President in office at all times, but Bush has done well considering the hand he was dealt. If Clinton had taken care of things when he was in office (things other than Monica) we might not have suffered through 9-11 and be going through what we are now. Bush was completely right to go into Iraq. there were more than likely WMDs but they were just transferred to other countries. There was certainly enought time before we finally went in for it to be done. Our troops and our President should have our support. I have never seen our country trashed by supposed Americans the way it is being trashed now. I hope they all come to their senses and realize how blessed they are to be in a country where they are able to say and do the things they are without being put and prison or worse. GOD BLESS THE USA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS & PRESIDENT. Better still why don't we BLESS GOD the way we should? Waynette, proud Texas American
It matters not what your political party association is--what matters is what you do with your vote and support for our country. I am neither Democrat nor Republican--I vote for the person I feel can do the job that needs to be done. You have spoken many of the things that I believe and support. My father died a disabled veteran, my brother and husband are disabled veterans. When the time came, it did not matter what any one's political was--they fought to keep our American Freedoms. I am not rich in money but oh so very rich in Freedom. God Bless America and bring our troops safely home....
I agree, this is a great article and is well said. I am a republican, longgggggggggggg way from being rich, but rich in honesty, integrity, pride, love, laughter . dk.
Our country will perservere in spite of the decisions of the republican party . and for that matter the democrat party. If the Republican party is so great they should be able to change things then . Like putting the working man to work at decent paying union jobs not the chinese , like fixing the drug perscription plan that really works for everyone.Like overhauling the income tax laws .Is the republican party cutting benifits for veterans? I think so . Does all republican paty members think we made the right decision going into Iraq ? How can there be people going to bed hungry in this country or going without medicine because they can't afford it? Fix it republicans you have the momentum on your side now. I am a democrat and i don't believe in the liberal ideas you accuse the party of God help us as we are in your hands now
RIGHT ON. JUST ONE ERROR WAS MADE, I AM OF THE JEWISH FAITH AND ALSO FEEL THE SAME WAY AS YOU DO. WE ALSO BELEIVE IN THE ALMIGHTY GOD,AND THE TEACHINGS OF THE BIBLE.PLEASE INCLUDE US TOO.
You are an outstanding American. Itís really hard for me to understand how some of us in America have lost sight of or never have been able to understand what makes America great. The freedom we have to pull our selves up or down on our own. Are they stupid? Are they just too decadent to understand? Thank God there are a lot of good Americans like you - not rich, catholic and white, but hard working, intelligent, good and free no matter your race or religion - who understand that if we change this country too much IT WILL DIE! We must protect our freedom to do and say what we want within the rule of law without change the rule of law to make genocide acceptable and socialism the path.
VERY WELL DONE MAY GOD BLESS EVERYONE
AMEN!! I agree with all that this man said.
* I am a Christian ... I am an American ... I am a Texan, and I AM A DEMOCRAT! I too was glad to see the disclaimer from Steve and Becca. I like this site. Sharing the Christian message through these pages is a wonderful way to spread the Word. But the Word should not become political. God is not a Democrat, God is not a Republican. God is GOD. Now... we little urchins on this piece of dust in the universe can never agree. So we have the "party" idea. I could go on like the political mentally lopsided have, but I don't have time. You see, my job is being outsourced to India. And there are so many negative things regarding this inept administration ... give me a break. .. Okay, here I go ... Democrat in office -> deficit bye bye ... Republican in office -> we owe, we owe, off to work we go ... One of those many jobs created since W came about. Who know's, maybe someday you'll be manager of McD's. Our "fearless" leader spoke in Texas this week and commented that when people ask when we will bring the troops home, he answered "when the missions done." Excuse me, the "agenda" of W was known long ago. He wanted to get Saddam because he tried to kill his Daddy. .. hmmmm, how much progress has been made "over-there?" That over-there includes North Korea. The answer is not much. (if any) I hope W and those blind to the obvious will see the paupers, will see those who can't afford prescription cost, will see the elderly literally struggling to get by. There are soooo many issues to address. But for now I will say Bless You to Steve & Becca for your site, but please don't litter the space with right-wing mud. --- after all, I would like to continue my subscription. p.s. Hillary has more knowledge in her "left" pinky than Alfred E. Newm ...oops I mean W, has in his entire staff.
I will probably be told to 'keep my nose out of another country's business', but being a CITIZEN of a country which your President calls 'the Coalition of the Willing' I feel justified in adding my comments to those which I have just read. I believe that until your Government honourS the stAtement which is printed very clearly on your coins ("IN GOD WE TRUST") and permit religious instruction in your schools, your country will never prosper, nor will it ever be the country you would all desire to have. Wake up, America, and stop being hypocritical, and refocus your loyalty and serviCe to the only One who can save you or your country. I'm an 'Aussie', and very proud of that fact, but I would never vote for any polititian who would threaten our young people's faith in Christianity. I'm pleased that we can help you fight for Democracy, but let's all be honest with ourselves, starting with the poilitians! Sincerely, Norm. (A FAIR DINKUM AUSSIE!)
AMEN !!! I don't agree with everything President Bush does or says...and I don't agree with everything done by the Republican party, but I shudder to think what would be happening in our world right now if George W Bush had lost the last 2 elections.
I am a very hard-working Republican and am very proud of who I am and for what I stand. I agree with my President who fears God and prays to the only God of this universe. Pity not more people do, for if they did, we would not be at war but at peace with all mankind. I agree 100% with your article and would stand up next to the author any time, any day, any place. May God bestow His blessings on him and his family.
I am a fifth generation Texan. My family has paid in blood to be called Americans. We have always "answered the call" when our country has needed us. I am proud that Steve and Becca have allowed that great American's article to appear on their website. We need more of this type of writing than what the media allows us due to "political correctness" of which I often wonder who decides what is "politically correct". I know that I have never been asked. I just want to say "Thank You!" for that article. At least someone other than a poor starving Hollywood producer (who was allowed to have his opinions and views, free of charge of course, spoon-fed to us by the mass media) was allowed to state his opinions and views. May God bless this patriotic American tenfold and more for standing up and saying what the great majority of us believe. God bless our president for being there when we needed him, right or wrong. Everytime I return to the States I want to get on my hands and knees to kiss the ground and thank God I was born an American. From Brazosport,Texas.
Well said-from another Ex-Democrat. Thanks for sharing with those of us in the web world.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've said what I've been thinking in a very eloquent manner. My hope is that we quiet, hard-working Americans don't keep our mouths shut (and sometimes turning the other cheek) so long that the Democrats continue and expand their power base. I am not wealthy nor a businessman. I am a woman who works to support three dependents who cannot support themselves. I live in Mississippi. I believe in God, democracy and the United States of America. I believe in the sanctity of the freedoms which are afforded my be virtue of my place of birth, but I also know these freedoms are not "free." God Bless You and God Bless America.
AS FOR THE MONEY SPENT ON THE ARTICLE, WASHINGTON POST SHOULD PAY THIS GREAT AMERICAN FOR REMINDING THE THE REST OF US WHAT TRUE AMERICANS ARE MADE OF. AT LEAST BY PAYING FOR THE AD HIMSELF THE PRESS COULDN'T DISTORT HIS TRUE BELIEVES. MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU, WE NEED MORE ARTICLES OF SUCH CONVICTIONS. MY FAITH IN MATTERS WHICH ARE TRUELY IMPORTANT TO THE WELL BEING OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY ARE SOLITIFIED NOT ONLY BY THIS GREAT ARTICLE BUT BY ALL THE POSITIVE COMMENTS SHARED BY THE READERS OF IT. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL AMERICANS WHO CONTRIBUTE TO ITS WELL BEING. BOB WALDEISEN OMAHA NE.
What I am is a Christian Mother and GrandMother that comes from along line of blood relatives that served in the armed forces to protect their Country's Freedom. The same goes for my husband's side of the family also and these military people even date back to the War Between the States. What happened on 9/11 was an attack on all of us personally to rob us of our years of Freedom paid by all these veteran's that fought for the right to keep our Country's Freedom. If we don't take the War to them and fight it there, it won't be long and the enemy will be here blowing themselves up in our cities. If you doubt that then look at what is happening in England. Who's next? We can't bury our heads like ostrich and pretend it will go away. Those who can't support our troops and our President should buy one way ticket to Iraq and see how long you last. Get the message; support our Country or pack your bags and leave and don't come back. I love America and our Freedom and the one's that are protecting that Freedom! Long live our Freedom and the ones that have the gutts to fight for that right to Freedom!
I AM A RETIRED PUBLIC SCHOOL PRINCIPAL. I DO NOT HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME STORY BUT FEEL IN MY HEART WHAT THIS GENTLEMAN FEELS. I LOVE PEOPLE, AM A GOD FEARING CHRISTIAN AND FEEL THAT I AM PERSON WHO LOVES THIS COUNTRY FIERCLY AND WILL PROTECT IT AND ITS FUTURE WITH ALL THE LIFE IN MY BODY.
Fantastic!! My husband and I have read and agree with every word said in this article!! From Minnesota.... MaryLou Hicks
Right On! God bless you and your convictions! I would call you the "salt of the earth" and pray you never change! Like minded citizens need to stand up and shout this message, and vote in like minded representives to carry our voice in government office all over the Great Land! Dr. Alex Jones, Homestead, Florida
What you are is a fool for spending that much money in support of a party that has so blatantly pludered the country with this war, trade deals, tax cuts disproportionally favoring the very rich and record budget deficits. For example some of the President's benefactors such as Haliburton have profited immensely through government contracts from the war. It has had the effect of keeping Iraqi oil off of the market, keeping the price of oil and gas high meaning higher costs for Americans and bigger profits for oil companies. Do you think that is just a coincidence? You are right, the Democrats are wrong about most everything. They have opposed the President on the wrong issues such as judges and paid lip service to issues like CAFTA and the cost of the war. Neither party seems to be a solution to the other. They will both cost the average American. It's just a question of which pocket they will take it from and how fast. By your brief auto-biography you don't seem so foolish. You must be profiting from the shenanigans of the current administration.
I, too, am a proud, handicapped American Senior Citizen Woman who has worked hard all my adult life supporting her husband (of almost 45 years) as our family needed it. To date, I've had 26 orthopedic surgeries but I'm still moving and still thanking God for each day. I, too, an a Christian and a Republican who believes in doing that which is right. Personally, I don't believe we have too many years to be upon this earth as we know it before the Lord comes to take us home. Glory be, then I'll have a new body. I truly feel sorry for those millions around the globe who have good bodies and don't take care of them. They don't realize how blessed our country has been over the years but will some day when the blessing are removed because of our ingratitude towards Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth. My serve to the Lord Jesus can begin any time - I'm ready!
I ALSO AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN (IN KANSAS IF YOU WANT YOUR VOTE TO COUNT YOU MUST VOTE IN REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES). I AM 76 YEARS OLD , A RETIRED PRINTER, (42 YRS). I REMEMBER GROWING UP UNDER PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S LEADERSHIP (A DEMOCRATE). HE BROUGHT US OUT OF A TERRIBLE DEPPRESSION BROUGHT ON BY THE PREVIOUS REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION. I LEARNED EARLY IN LIFE YOU MUST WORK TO GAIN WHAT YOU WANT. AS FOR THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION, MY STOCK HOLDINGS WENT DOWN 10% AFTER HE WAS ELECTED IN NOVEMBER. THEY WERE DOWN 500,000 BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE SLIDE. (SUPPOSEDLY THINGS WOULD GET BETTER). NOW WE ARE IN A PRIVATE WAR, OF THE BUSH'S, MANY INOCENT PEOPLE HAVE HAD THEIR LIVES TURNED UP SIDE DOWN, NOT THIER CHOICE BUT FORCED UP OM THEM. I AM GLAD YOU COULD AFFORD TO SPEND ALL THAT MONEY TO GET YOUR MESSAGE OUT TO THE PUBLIC. AS A FORMER CONTACT NEGOTIATOR FOR OUR GROUP OF WORKERS, I AM WELL AWARE THAT A COMPANY MUST MAKE MONEY IF THEY ARE TO HIRE AN PAY DECENT WAGES. IT ALSO GOES THE OTHER WAY, WITH OUT GOOD EMPLOYEE'S, MOST COMPANIES DO NOT MAKE A PROFIT. THE CLIMATE IS CHANGING THO, BUSINESS CAN NOW BUY OVERSEAS AND SELL HERE AT A big proffit. IT IS GOOD TO UNDERSTAND GOD AND HOW THE WORLD WORKS. WHAT I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND IS THE FACT HOW MANY PEOPLE (GOOD PEOPLE) FOLLOW THE CROWD RATHER THAN READ AND CHECK FOR THEM SELVES. I THINK IF THEY BELIEVE THE BIBLE, THEY WILL FIND THAT LIFE BEGINS WHEN THEY RECIEVE THE BREATH OF LIFE (GENISES). ONE MORE REPUBLICAN VIEW.
Please do more of these. You may or may not be a Republican but this speaks to the hearts of AMERICANS!!!! We would be wise to take these words seriously with our world in such turmoil and yet there is comfort and pride in this man's words and works. I would like for you to send this to FOX NEWS. Thanks again for sharing. Burneyville OK
This article was great, God is useing this man to speak out to let us see what's really out there, If God is for us who dares to be againts us.Good work. God bless all of you. Marisol-Panorama city, California

Excellent article, well written and well thought out. You apparently caught the feelings of many, many people and expressed them very eloquently - having read at least a portion of the comment section. I agree with so much of what you say, wish it were in every major American newspaper, wouldn't have to be a full page, could be on the editorial page - letter to the editor type thing or written by a guest editor, whatever. It needs to be seen in mass forum by the masses. Thank you again Now my thoughts to those who would negate what you say - you don't feel there were WMDs? Do you realize that a thimble size amount of biological and/or chemical warfare could literally destroy the entire North American and South American continents, all the inhabitants - animal and mankind? How hard would it be to hide or move something that minute? Now think about it - these wars aren't fought the "old" way any longer and all rules and bets are off. Oh and by the way, if you were in THEIR country and were a dissenter - you'd be DEAD by now, and nobody would care, or could care because then they would be dead too. Do you get the picture now. You are in AMERICA, son and fortunately for you, you STILL have the right to say you don't like what the president or the government in power is doing and you can still live. It is not like that in the countries in which we are actively involved fighting right now. You don't like it here - leave, don't come back, go live by THEIR rules for awhile. Watch them rape the little children, kill them, kill babies and rape their mothers and kill them while making the fathers watch and then killing them or worse yet, making them serve in THEIR army. Oh and don't we feel bad about the prisoners at abu Grey prison camp? Just what the devil do you think happens to POWs in prison camps? Do you think they sit around playing cards and tiddly winks? It IS A PRISON CAMP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Shall we send in 52" big screen tv's and satellite dishes, computers and the like, maybe a fully stocked library and build a nice gymnasium and excercise facility with state of the art equipment, don't forget the trainers for them. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? What do you think happens to YOUR fellow Americans (the soldiers) fighting for you when they are caught and taken to a prison camp? Think the enemy follows the rules of the Geneva convention? Think they EVEN know what it is? Not likely in either event. More likely they are beaten, raped, sodomized, traumatized, tormented, tortured beyond your wildest imagination, and then maybe they are killed, if they are lucky. If they are not, they will be thrown into a cell - usually a hole in the ground, filthy dirty, either overcrowded, or no other people - slop not fit for any animal to eat, is their meal, and daily ritual torture is the rite of passage. Geneva convention at work. NOT!! You never see in the media the pictures of soldiers picking up a child, or giving them candy or being a friend to the people in need. I guess that would be too graphic an image and destroy the image the media is trying to portray of a president who made the wrong choice. So, Mr. Esser, please keep being an American, keep writing and keep buying ads because we all know God is watching us to see how we "love one another as I have loved you". This is the great commandment, along with "for whatsoever a man (person) doeth unto another, he doeth also unto me." Thanks!! RA, NW IA
Thanks for a great article. It is encouraging to know that there are others who thank God for a free country and a president who has to make some very difficult choices. We need to stand behind our president with lots of prayer. Signed-a country Kansan

Amen!!! Nothing more can be said. M Ringel-Indiana
THANK YOU and AMEN!
What an undertaking...writing your convictions and beliefs here!!! I applaud you and your achievements and your courage! I too am sick of what has happened in our country in my lifetime. Where I first registered as a Democrat many years ago, and continued in that party until last year, I am now a registered Republican; before that, I am a Christian and cannot see how so many politicians can spout such far-fetched ideas and still hold their heads high. During the presidential campain of '04, I was disgusted with the Democratic choices and spoke loudly at the polls in November. I agree that Hollywood's entertainers hold no place in speaking opinions on politics, war or any other serious issue. One Democrat, Ted Kennedy, makes me nauseated. The thought of Hillary Clinton possibly becoming our nation's president makes me virtually ill. I think I'll move to another country if that happens. John Kerry was a mere joke!!! Yes, I admire George Bush, his wife, his children and his parents. Pres. Bush has shown true leadership in the face of many obstacles, here and abroad. He has held firm to his faith and bowed to no one. I will be passing this on to others for their reading pleasure. Thank you again for the strength you've shown in publishing your remarks here. Mary Dickerson
I have read this before, during the election in 2004. But it certainly still applies now. Thank-you for posting it here.
RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, you speak for many Americans
Very good article keep up the good work.
Simply wonderful! Ryan Tompkins
I agree with this man! IN GOD WE TRUST------ONE NATION UNDER GOD. I hope he speaks up again!
This Man Is Amazing ~ After I read the article ~ I wondered WHO IS THIS BRAVE PERSON ? So I went to "Google" and looked him up. He is Very Brave in this day to put out such A Great Speech ! NOW ~ PLEASE ~ Can You Stop "Jane Fonda?" Thank You Sir ~~ God Bless This Man ~ His Family and THIS WEB SITE. Love YOUR WEB SITE. Glenda in Fontana, California
I MUST SAY THAT WHAT THE MAN WROTE ABOUT BEING A REPUBLICAN WAS GOOD. ONE THING I DONT UNDERSTAND IS THAT HOW IDIOTS REPOBATES LIKE HOWARD DEAN TED KENENDY AND JESSIE JACKSON THAT THINKS ITS OK FOR MEN TO MARRY MEN AN WOMEN TO MARRY WOMEN AND ITS OK KILL UNBORN BABIES AND DONT WANT ANY DECENT MORAL COMMON SENSE APPOINTMENT TO ANY THE JUDGE PANNELS CAN BE ALLWED TO STAY IN OFFICE AND FOR THE RECORD IM NEITHER DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN I AM CONSERVATIVE TO SOME DEGREE IVE FOUND NEITHER PARTY THAT HAS HELPED ME I LEAN TOWARD REP PARTY BUT THEY CANT DO NOTHING FOR ME ITS JESUS OR NOTHING JERRY MCDOWELL
AMEN. I could not have said it better. That's what you call an "American through and through, with a heart of Gold." There's not too many left in this country who really appreciates God and Freedom we have. GOD BLESS THIS MAN.
A very excellent web site. There is one correction that you might need to make and that is concerning the amount paid for the add. You used thousands after the 655 instead of just dollars. I had received this as just text and forwarded it to many people but I surely will forward your web site. too. We need more of this type of testimonial. It is well done , well stateed. Our country is still worth fighting for, regardless of the moral decay gooing on inside our country, despite the seclarism, anti Christian, anti American diatribe being spewed by the radical liberals coming oout of the woodwork and brombeneath the rocks. Shelby M. Forrest, Col, USMCR (ret)
I read and certainly appreciated the article. If there was a fund needed to help this gentleman's expenses I would be willing to send a contribution to the fund. Thank you sir for speaking my feelings.
I too am a proud American and a Christian and I also know WHO is in control. May God Bless all of us!!
What I am is a long time Republican who's damned sick and tired of having a party that used to stand for individual liberty and freedom highjacked by a Religious Right trying to get our governmet to enforce fundamentalist Christian dogma upon everyone in the United States.
Sir, I used to say I was a democrat. However now, I am a disabled Christian Lady who is married to a very disabled man. I hear this but I have my doubts if anything that was said would make a difference in this world. Throw God and the Ten Commandments out of our country that was founded on Strong Christians and what do you have? A pitiful mess!!! God help this country. He is the only one who can. I agree and disagree with parts of what you sent in your ad. But would like to add this, not that I am complaining for if I needed the amount of money you spent on this ad, God tells me he would supply my needs so therefore, I am sure I would have it. On our pitiful checks (excuse me Father, for this needs to be said) we tithe to our Church, and live a year on many many times less than you paid for this one ad. I think what makes me the sickest, is we, as a country, allow all these people to come in, send them to our school and teach them how to kill us!! The truth will stand and I believe the day is soon when the truth will come out. God bless you and I thank God I am me and have the peace only He can give.
Yes it is very true about what the republican party stands for and I myself believe in the same conditions as it was stated in the above . I have been a Republican all my life time. I was born to my parents that entered the country in the 1920's to seek a better life and my parents both worked hard to raise a family of three boys to make a better life for them. They sacrifice plenty and today i am living in a Florida ,with a happy retirement , and then looking back as I myself have given much to this country, as I was a Army man in the Korean War. The Republican Party stands for what they did in the pass, as they had some great presidents and among them Is Abraham Lincoln , a man that freed the slaves back in the 1850-1860. God Bless America and those that live up to protect the country and its citizens for all evil that is in the world today. The Republican party stands for that, and so do I ERNEST EDWARD STROEDECKE- FLORIDA USA
With apologys to Mr. Mark Twain, who if he didn't say this, he should have. GOOD HEAVENS!!! DON'T YOU PEOPLE REALIZE THAT MR. ESSEFF'S MONEY IS TAINTED!! IN FACT, IT IS TWICE TAINTED!!!!! TAIN'T YOURS AND TAIN'T MINE!!!! He can do whatever he wants with his money and in this case, he spent it wisely. Danny Shaw Former D.I.P. (D----- Independent Pharmacist) Owned my own drugstore from 1964 to 1993 Sunbury, Ohio
Bless you for putting this out for all who enjoy your web site to read. I agree with the article and thank you for making it available. Mary in California
And he isn't a "rich" man but can pay that much
That was absolutely right on and thank God for you, Mr. Republican, to be willing to spend your hard earned money so that these truths can be told! I appreciate you, thank you so much!
Right,The truth is the truth. There are too many people who think that everything they want should be given to them.
I'm thankful that someone has spoken for so many of us that believe the same as you.I also am a Republican and believe our President is doing a great job. God is very important to all and we all need to follow his examples. Thanks again for all your compeling words. They give me a sense of hope. My husband was also a vietnam vet and has spoken of the horrible things that had been said to him when he came back. He was protecting our rights as are our men and women in Irag for without them whom would step up and protect our rights and freedom. Tanya Pa.
Thank you sir, and my God bless you. I am just an old Vietnam warrior who wishes that I could still go into battle today with our great young warriors now fighting for the future of the world. I love this great country...I ALWAYS will.
I found this article a refreshing and encouraging read. As a Vietnam Veteran and "working class" american I still am proud to call myself a Republican. The party may not be perfect, but I uphold the values of our current President and applaud his solid stand. Thank you for this wonderful article, may God Bless the Writer and Steve and Becca for the courage to post it.
I bet hepaid most of his employees the minumum wage. Freedom of choice? Yet he withholds this for women.Wonder which war he served in. Does he have a son or daughter in Iraq? Does he believe in nation building. How about lying to go to war?
A Masterpiece to cherish from a true American. May God bless the courage this man displayed in sharing this with so many of us who feel the same, and for Steve and Becca for sending this to give us hope that all is not lost, after all. It's so refreshing to know, as a fellow American and Military family, we are not alone. Thank you.
Steven and Becca's disclaimer simply states their neutrality concerning this advertisement. Some of you out there don't understand what a disclaimer is any more than you understand politics. I am a former republican who now embraces the Constitution Party and Michael Paroutka. I would encourage all of you to investigate the Constitution Party by going to their web site: constitutionparty.com. It stands for what the republican party once stood for. C.Hume Nampa,Idaho
All I have to say is AMEN!!!!!!

This article is the best I have read in a very, very long time. It says what we all are thinking but afraid to voice. If all real Americans would come forth and voice their opinions we could get our nation back to the wonderful America that it is intended to be.
Fantastic article and so true.... What I am is a Proud American and a Proud Republican too....God Bless this Country and God Bless President Bush.....
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!! GOD BLESS REPUBLICANS!!!!! GOD BLESS MR. ESSEFF!!!!! Milly in Florida
WAY TO GO, MR. ESSEFF!!!!! I APPLAUD YOU! I TOO AM TIRED OF HEARING THE SAME OLD TIRED CRAP THAT THOSE WHOM YOU PAID TO REBUTT CONTINUOUSLY LET DROOL OUT OF THEIR CONSTANTLY OPEN MOUTHS! THANK YOU FOR SPENDING YOUR OWN MONEY, WHICH YOU EARNED AND HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO SPEND AS YOU WISH, ON THIS AD! IF I HAD IT I WOULD HAVE DONE IT TOO, THOUGH, I MUST SAY, NOT NEARLY AS SUCCINCTLY AS YOU SIR! AGAIN, THANK YOU! MARIE L. SOTO, NEW JERSEY, USA!
WOW!! I wholeheartedly agree. I don't think we see nearly enough of this side of the issue in the liberal media. Thank you for printing this on your website. J. Jenny Sunbury, Ohio
Amen to the individual who wrote this article - his opinion is shared by millions of people all across the U.S. It's time more people stood up and took a stand for God and for decency in the United States!
This is a great article. I just wish that every American could read it with an open mind and not let their political party do the thinking for them. We are Americans and we are free. NJS
I read with pride your newspaper article. If more people (especially Americans) would follow your principles, this world would be a much better place to live for all people, no matter what color or religion. It would be nice if there were no Republicans or Democrats but only leaders united for the same cause. God Bless You!
I applaud you for sharing this with your readers. It is quite plain that this was written from the heart and this gentleman is to be commended for his action. These words are felt by numerous people, are seldom said and infrequently read. This should appear in more newspapers across the country. Thank you
GOD BLESS! YOU FOR TAKING A STAND AND SAYING WHAT NEEDED TO BE SAID .
WHERE ARE THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION FROM IRAQ? WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT THEY WERE TIED TO THE 911 ATTACK? MR BUSH CUTS TAXES; STARTS WARS AND YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WILL BE PAYING FOR AGES TO COME. THE SAME BARBARIC ACTIONS GO ON IN UNDEVELOPED COUNTRIES ALL AROUND THE WORLD. ARE WE TO ATTACK THEM OR ARE WE WAITING FOR OIL TO BE DISCOVERED THERE??? I VOTED FOR BUSH AND IT WAS THE POOREST CHOICE I HAVE EVER MADE. THIS TUNNEL VISION ON ABORTION AND STEM CELL RESEARCH IS PITIFUL!
I totally agree!!! I also believe that no party, race, nationality, church, club or any other "organization" can be responsible for all it's members--even a family has many different opinions and ways of doing things. There are good and bad in all groups...even some good democrats!! Many are just misled by people who should know better, and make truly uninformed decisions. Unfortunately the news media is responsible for many throwing out opinions, and calling them "News". It is most unfortunate.
Thanks Folks for listing this article on your web site as I happen to be a middle income Republican, not rich by no means. This gentleman said it all and have sent it some of my friends. Sincerely, Marlene
Fabulous! Thank God for this man and his heart and soul. Bless you, sir, wherever you go. Helaine
Thank you for posting this immensely appropriate article. I too, am proud to be a Republican and to support all that President Bush is doing, and I am not rich, or self-serving as we are portrayed to be, but a retired secretary living primarily on Social Security and thanking God for the privilege to belong to the greatest country in the world and praying that those that oppose what we stand for will do us all a facor, and LEAVE. No one is making them stay here. In God We Trust!!!!
It is a marvelous piece of writing, but let it be known that there are thousands of democrats who think just as this writer does! And to those who find that they seem to be at odds because He said that he is Catholic , look the word up because no matter what denomination you are ( Baptist, Methodist, Quaker, etc) If you worship God through Jesus Christr and by the Holy Spirit you are Catholic /universal/ christian/ they all mean the same thing ,TRUTH !
Splendid! A courageous and remarkable American and a Republican to boot!!!!! I applaud his views.--Marie from Seminole, FL
Powerful. Keep up the great work. Patsy
I agree with this article. It is the best one I have ever read. Thank you so much for what you wrote.
Verry good. I agree with this article.I am a Democrat only because I registered as a Democratt. It has changed in the last several years. I have voted Republcian for the last several years. I am far from rich and have seen some very hard times when I was small. I am 74 years old and in those years the Democrat Party has changed form Conservitive to Liberal.
This gentleman said it very well
Bravo, bravo, bravo!!! Couldn't have collectively stated it any better!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
Republicans are who hold this country together and make it stronger.
Thank goodness for those that speak up against the ones that are against this country and its standards. We have so many on the news media that I wonder if they are Americans as well as the Hollywood gang. Our country was founded on God, now they are trying to take God out of every thing and as you can see our country is fast going down hill, and as the Bible says they are calling evil good and good evil. Thank goodness for those that can be able to reach the multitudes and those of us that can't we are behind you 200% and wish we had the funds to do like wise. Thank you so much for publishing this, it gave my day a big boost. Our church wont' even talk about abortion, any thing that has controversy, you know the tax thing, don't want to get involved, scared someone might hear about it, don't want to declared a haratict type. It is time the Christians in this country stood up. But as our ex pastors wife said, we're going to be gone in the rapture don't worry about a thing, nothing is going to bother you, don't get ready for anything. Glad they are gone. Thank you! Suzanne Wood Romance,AR firstname.lastname@example.org
I have sent this on to everyone on my email list. To me, this is a very important statement and everyone in our country needs to read it. Our country is being torn apart and too many have forgotten our beginnings and what we stood for. Thank you, Sir, for your thoughts. God bless you.
AMEN,GOD BLESS THIS MAN
Some one has stepped forward and let the truth be know!!! God Bless You Brother American We have been quiet to long!!!!!
Thank you and God bless you, for saying what so many of us believe. I hope our President gets to read this too, it should encourage him in the struggle for our Nation's soul. I only hope our grandchildren will not have to live with the fear of terrorists still in our Country much longer. Thank you too, to all our troops, you are doing wonderful things in Iraq and the rest of the world too. Keep up the good work.
I have a feeling the sentiments expressed in this beautiful message could very well be applied to any Democrats as well. I believe that the time has come for quit slinging mud at each other and unite to do what's best for our country. And there's the rub, I guess, because we all don't think alike. But God created us and our diversity. Enjoy the fact that we are not cookie cutter copies of each other.
It may be somewhat close to being right, but how can all of you whatever's think this administration is like that, ( NO WAY )
YOU ARE RIGHT ON/I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE THOSE THOUGHTS//////////////
I have read this article and can support much of what has been said. Being a citizen of this free country I do not have to agree with all that has been said here. I do not choose to name the areas that I do or do not agree with. This is not the time or the place to discuss them. I am not looking for an argument and nothing said here has changed my thinking. I will express myself at the polls on election day. Mainly what I have to say is that I have very close friends who are Democrats and very close friends who are Republicans. Much of what has been said in this article could represent many of either party. What I would like to hear is, who, other than the writer of this article, (who's name has left me already), can lay claim to being as "American" as the author. We all have our faults. We all have our differences.
Bravo Mr. George Esseff.Jr.What a wonderful world it would be if we could all live with the same ideals that you put forth. I am proud to be an American When I know there are such as yourself working to keep our USA the strongest power in the world.
Amen! Just once I would like to see the people that complain the most about wages and time off - "the rich get richer" be the owner, and see how much effort, blood, sweat, and mostly sleepless nights,it takes to continue a business and put his butt on the line - to allow people to work, live, and prosper! Thank you for a beautiful letter Becky = Sandy Utah
Bravo. a rich Republican who has values and isn't afraid to pay for them and to express them. Helen Eshleman, Hollywood. FL
I say "Amen" to all of his comments. This is a great article and I believe in all that he said. Thanks for making it available to all your readers. A Colorado Fan
Thank you, thank you! This is wonderful and my sentiments exactly. God Bless.
Just to let you know that I really enjoyed this article and find so much truth in it that it shoul be posted everywhere..I have sent it on to anyone who cares to read it..Wonderful..Thank you so much..
I agree with WHAT I AM Though I do not have the money to print a full page of what I am, I have forwarded it on to friends and family. I agree that Hollywood people feel that they have some sort of "Right to tell us we are wrong. They live in a make believe world, not the real world. I believe in GOD and Country, and feel that those who do not love this country, can move to another country. But they will quickly find out they won't have the freedom of speech that they have here, Thank you, Mr. George J.Esseff, Sr. for voicing what I Am. We all need to read it and digest what it means to be an American. Sincerely, Katie Holtel
I have just finished reading "What I Am". That said it all. All who know me, will confirm, I'm neither rich or spoiled. I have worked very hard to raise two children, practially single-handed, because of a dead beat dad. Yes, there are laws, but it depends who our "elected officials" are at the time, wether things get done. Granted this is at the local level, however potitics are from the ground up. I can sleep much better at night, knowing that the President is a man of honor, is not afraid to speak the truth, will not be comprised, and most important is a loving husband and father. He takes is job as President of the United States very serious, and presents himself as a role model for our future generations. That is something our previous administration did not accomplish. If policy would have allowed him to seek re-election for a third term, his ego would have forced him to obligse. Is money more important, than honesty? And that subject "honesty" just seems to get swept under the rug. I haven,t been aware of any soup kitchens or poverty lines forming because of President Bush's leadership. Think....before you fall for someone else's opion. Know that mud slinging went out at the elementary level. Be proud and stand tall that you are living in the finest Democracy the world has to offer. Why do people still flock to our shores? Support those brave guys and girls who are risking their lives every single moment, so that we can still have the FREEDOM to complain. Sincerely, d mumma
How sad that so many respondents took issue with the disclaimer that Stephen & Becca "may not agree" with the statements in this article. Especially when the article itself refers to the right of expression for all parties. In reference to the article, the contents showed me only an egotistical person with the money to advertise his views. How any one can call George W. Bush honest, trusted and respected, particularly on the world stage, baffles me. What party he represents doesn't really matter, but if Republicans wish to claim him, so be it.
Thank you. I appreciated your comments.

I sent this to everyone I know. We are concerned conservative elder citizens who feel people have forgotten what this country is really all about. Lest we forget, God is watching. Believe it or not.
You sound very negative and self-centered to me. The Bush war against Iraq was not right now and never will be.Iraq had proper government, well organized society, etc. run by a tyrant. Other governments in the world have tyrants (Korea). Should the USA military attack all those countries? Calling democrats liberals, etc. is stupid. Believe me--- plenty of democrats have served the USA honorably and with distinction.Bragging about what you have "done" accomplishs nothing. Everybody works and serves in the USA in their own ways.
Sir, I am a WW2 Vet and I am proud to be what I am, I believe that we should be able to believe what we want because I fought and bled for the right to keep our freedom, I support our president and will as long as I am alive, I don't believe we have ever had a president, that I believed in 100% but regardless he is our president and as such we should support him, I was once asked if I called myself an American, and YES I do because we have traced our heratage back to 1650 and all my ancestors fought for this country to keep our freedom and our president is our comander-in-chief regardless and we should all support him. This man is right about what he says even some of us do not believe in all the things he says he still has the right to say them, if anyone don't like our way of life then go somewhere to live. J Ariola a Proud AMERICAN and one who supports our President.
What I Am is a woman married for 36 years to the same man and we have both been proud Republicans for all those years. Never worked a day in our lives? We wish. We worked to put both our kids through college so that they could make a difference in this world. We worked to make the United States and the world a better place. We worked to show our kids that they could do anything and be anything if they just tried and gave it their all. We worked to show them that there are many different races, religions and beliefs in this world and each one should be considered on it's own merits not by what others tell you to believe or think about them. We worked to make sure our kids had the best advantages we could afford to give them. We worked because none of this is free and would not be handed to them on a silver platter. Never worked a day in our lives...get real. All of us are not rich but we are all very proud to be Republicans. At least we are not living in the past and so narrow minded that we have to complain about every move our President makes. God Bless America, God Bless our President and God Bless the Republican Party.
I too am an AMERICAN & a CHRISTIAN but with all the hungry and homeless I shudder to think how much good all that money would have done. My prayer is that our President brings home our men overseas, they can't solve something if it doesn't want to be solved I'm sorry that people have picked on Steve & Becca, after all they are entitled to their own opinion. We should all be praying for peace in our nation. If our Heavenly Father returned today I'm sure he would be very upset. Please do not not print my name, just sign it someon who cares.
THANK YOU for speaking out. There are too few Americans who are willing to say what they believe and live that belief. Ann Hulsey
I am a 71 year old AMERICAN BORN CHRISTIAN LADY. My husband is a WWll Navy veteran. I have an uncle who died in WWll in the Navy. His younger brother was a Navy retiree. I have a nephew who has been in the Army Reserve's since graduating from high school. He served in Desert Storm/Desert Shield as as single man. He is now a married man with 3 children and still in the Army Reserve Special Ops. forces active duty. I have a grandson who served an enlistment in the Air Force following graduation from high school. He served his time in the Air Force Reserves. Now he has enlisted in the Army National Guard as a candidate for Officer Training school. All of my relatives named above were proud to be an American and to serve their great country. There are many problems, injustices and corruptions in our Nation. But of all the places on God's great earth to live; I thank God I was born an American and am proud of my country and all the brave troops every where in this world who are serving our great Nation. May GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!! JUNE FLOWERS OF aLABAMA
To Becca and Steve: I read your comment as "Not all comments reflect your views". Some take that to mean that you don't agree with this article. That may or may not be true. I thank you for sending this. I hadn't seen it before and prefer to be informed. Some don't want to be informed, they just want people to agree with them. Thanks be to all you preserve our right to freedom of speech. Esther, Texas
This great nation has surely fallen apart....I am grateful that this was written....I am afraid of the next generation that will be here in this country. Everything that men and women have fought for and died for will not even be remembered or appreciated.
WHAT I AM is a God fearing American, A Republican by choice, A man 77 years plus and for 20 + years, worked two full time jobs in order to provide a better way of life for my Family of a wonderful supportive Wife and 4 Children. Talk about an honest day's work? They don't have the right to judge or criticuze anyone. My Bible tells me,"JUDGE NOT THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED." I believe that anyone who is constantly criticizing someone else shows a lack of intelligence. They don't the capacity of mind to carry on an intellegent conversation.
wow!!! I would like to shake this man's hand. He said it like it is. Thank You, Sir
These are very well written and express my views as well.
very good read , thank you for putting it out there to see, GOD BLESS AMERICA.....
I an reminded of an article put out by Dan Sprick (former Arkansas congressman and business man) called "The Tired American". His sentiments were just about the same and he, too, spent his own money (probably far less) in order to have it printed. I share most of the same beliefs as these two gentlemen and say a big God Bless anyone who stands up to the Politically Correct crowd. Bill from Arkansas (and no, I did not vote for the Clintons)
I agree with a lot of what you say. I disagree with a lot of what you say, but as an American, member of the Democratic Party, I would die for your right to say it. As a Catholic, I saw Bush go into an elective war against Iraq, based upon lies to the American people about WMD, against the reiterated strong admonitions of Pope John Paul II. I believe in the sacredness of human life, in all it's stages, but Bush only gives lip service to that principle. There were less abortions under President Clinton, because of better economic help for the poor and for poor young women who were in trouble. It is the facts, not the words. The same is true of proposals for stem cell research. Is Sen. Frist's deviation from Bush's opposition to stem cell research a way around that? Is VP Cheney's favoring homosexual unions a way to have it both ways? To propose a constitutional amendment that marriage is only between one man and one woman while campaigning for the Presidency, but subsequently to say no more about it, except to say it is impractible and for Cheney's comments to be widely aired, giving his own lesbian daughter's lifestyle approval at that high level. I believe that torture and sexual humiliation of prisoners is unAmerican and wrong under all circumstances. I am ashamed of Guantanamo and Abu Graib. I am unhappy that the Bush Administration has alienated former allies worldwide. Those Christian principles were what many Americans, including myself, endorse. As Democrats, however, we also endorsed principles of Social Justice, equality, fairness and opportunity for all hard-working Americans, not tax breaks for the very rich, which many wealthy Americans themselves did not endorse. I think Social Security is under attack by George W. Bush and must be protected from any privatization or attack and reduction by his administration. I believe in protection of American wilderness and environment, betrayed by the Bush Administration. I think HONESTY IN ELECTIONS, which was never doubted in this beloved Country before the George W. Bush candidacy, is vital to the American Way of Life, and believe that honesty is in jeopardy. While believing in the same moral values as many Republicans believe in, I hold that the above considerations are also vital to our Country, and pray we can restore our Country to those values... There are grievous faults in both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, but making a choice of the high cost to our country, in every sense, of the Bush-Cheney Administration, and the good done under the Administrattion of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, I certainly choose the latter (and also the wise Clinton Administration, which left us with a surplus, not pouring out lives and treasure in Iraq. Terrorism certainly has not diminished because of our invasion of Iraq. The world has abandoned us and we are worse off than before.)
Thank you for allowing the voice of those of us who cannot afford to have such an article printed be heard. It's time that we speak up for the few privileges that have not been taken from us. It's right on time! There is a quote by Burke that expresses my sentiments: ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL IS THAT GOOD MEN DO NOTHING. Thank you for having the courage, whether it expresses your views or not, for printing the article. May God bless you and "May God Bless America." Myrtle in Darlington, SC
What a cost($104,000) for freedom of speach. Democrat and Republican mean nothing. The Democratic Party was started to represent the poor people of the United States, to raise them up, provide jobs and a decent living. The Republican Party was supported by those who already had enough to provide good lives for their families. Over the years we have lost the values of these two parties, and now it is mostly get what you can for yourself and acquire more and more. We don't care about even our neighbors. We have a president who went to revenge his father and continued a "war" just for that reason. Believe in God, so he says he does, but the Bible says revenge is mine THUS SAITH THE LORD. The United States survives because the Lord lets it, but the day will come when we all answer for the things we have done, for the way we have treated the poor and the destitute, and for the way we CONTINUE
Amen, Brother. You sure have a way with words. I salute you, my Friend. Keep the faith and God Bless you.
There are good, "Godly people on both sides", don't forget that!!! These thoughts could have come from any of them!, but they didn't have to spend those dollars to let their good works show as they go about their daily tasks of doing good for others in need around them. Only God knows a persons heart, which sometimes we forget! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE SERVING TO KEEP US FREE!!! Helen from MO.
How nice that he is that way..good thoughts! However, not ALL Republicans, nor ALL Democrats have such idealistic thoughts much less character!
Many truths in this article.
so blessed in this freecountry, yet one wonders if he favors the huge tax break he gets, when he already has more than he needs. Does he believe in adopting some of those unwanted babies.
I think it was great, thanks for publishing the truth. Too many today are afraid to speak the truth and yet the truth sets us free.
I was wondering if the gentleman who posted this add has any children serving in the armed forces today? I think his money could have been spent more wisely. As far as the comment from Steve and Becca, We must remember that they have viewers from all parties.
Very well stated. Thank you and God bless!
Thank you for this wonderful article. God Bless the man who spoke out and Bless you for printing the acticle. How unfair to label someone just because he or she is of the other party.
Amen, amen and amen again! What a shame a person has to spend an abomidable amount of money to get such an article printed in a newspaper. It should be printed in every paper in every city in America. The media "forces" much more than what is said in this man's words down America's throat free of charge. I believe America survives only because of people like the gentleman who wrote this article. Praises to you for sharing it with others here. Donna R. Telford
I am sorry that this article does not reflect the views of Stepehn and Becca, but am glad that they saw reason to share it with the restof us. Many a good article are lost in the paper today from those who fear the truth. I will follow a man not based on his party, but his desire to do the will of our Father God who gives generously to all of his children, wisdom, love, patience, understanding, strength, power and abilities to do measureably more than mere men can do. I am confident that there are good democrats who will agree with this man, that bashing our president is not called for and hurts our position while at war to free others in the world from hatred and killing dictators. They, as all Americans who love God, should become a voice, first heard by God, then by their neighbors, and finally by the entire nation, by showing thier concern with voting righteous peoples into leadership. I pray that we all could learn a lesson from this man, "one man can make a difference". Christ did this by example to 12 first. Are we leading by example or simply existing? God bless you all and may God bless this man for his sharing this day. R. Wages, Georgia
"What I Am"; what an awesome piece and the music!!!!!!!! Very emotional!!!!! Keep up the GREAT work!!!!! Thank you!!!
I think this was a great, great statement. I too am tired of the Democrats constantly bashing the Republicans. It should appear in every newspaper in this country-- free of charge. Thank you Deer Lake for bringing it to the attention of your readers.

Hello: Just finished reading " What I Am " It is terrific and I wholeheartedly agree with it~~~Thank you so Much !!! Wonderful.
July 30 I belive in what was said but I think we have had good President's from both Parties in office. And I thank God I am an American regardless of what party I belong to. I lost a brother in Korea that helped me to gain that right. M.Cobb Florida
This is a very great and well written and thought out article. I have the highest respect for this individual and would like to meet him. I am a democrat and have the very same high moral values and I do know some people like he describes and a lot of them are republicans, and a lot of them are democrats. I ranch and farm and will be the first , with a huge number of people agreeing with me, that republicans are agriculture's and a cattleman's worst enemy bar none. This admistration has completely disgraced and betrayed us by opening the Canadian border, ignoring the Mexican, U.S. border, the out sourcing of jobs and total unconcern of the heartlands well being. I can still remember his brother's lifting millions of dollars from the savins and loan episode in Denver Colo. Theses things I have mentioned will just take out 20 BILLION DOLLARS out of our pockets in less than one year. Let's pay attention to the life blood of this country. Larry Brack
I absolutely love it. More people should feel as he does. and not to be ashamed of it either. Thanx so much for being American and printing it. God was in that one.

I think it was absolutely wonderful. I I thought it was wonderful he spent that kind of money to say it like it is. You should feel the same. Thank you.
You(Steve & Beca) cerently have the right to your own opinions but I don"t think this was the plase to list them. I agree with the article and will pass it on.

"What you find printed on this page, does not represent the views of DeerLake (Steven and Becca )." It should. :-)
It certainly should reflect your views, and every one else's RDH 44060
Well said. Socialist like Deen, Kennedy, Durdin, the ACLU, Hollywood heat heads, etc. are doing their best to bring down America. It will not happen because of people like the gentleman that brought this ad. Bill Paschall Commander, U.S. Navy (Retired) Combat Vet of both Korea and Vietnam
A REAL AMERICAN.
AMEN................that covers it, being near deaf, all my life from chilhood abuse, that not found till i was past 40, there is so much i missed, what i have seen with my eyes, keeps me proud to be an American, not what party i sigyned up for, yet i still wonder about politics, and man, have many why's on my list and no answers. But this letter says it all and has covered a lot of my whys, God bless America, and the people that stand for what they believe in, God and the American way, kathryn berish, ohio.
Thank you. That is a very powerful statement...... directly from his heart......and from a smart brain. MJC
All i can say is WOW ,THANK YOU THANK YOU you have spoken from the heart ,God bless you .
The only statement that bothered me about this article was that it did not necessarily reflect Steven and Beccas' beliefs...I personally, thought it was RIGHT ON and was presented professionally and in total perfection....We need to wake up America...We're going down hill and picking up speed! Thanks for an uplifting note, Judy
I am a person -- one who was raised with little, want little, struggled like many people to raise a family to work hard - ran a successful business, took care of my employees like they were family and am neither Democrat nor Republican. Labels do not make the man or woman-- it is their character that shows us what they are truly like. Our Government has been and always will be corrupted by many within it -- from the President on down -- and it matters not who is Republican or Democrat. I believe in fighting for our country as we did in WW1 and WW2 -- we were attacked and we responded immediately -- we did not boast and preach that "we will get you by land sea and air" six to eight months before our invasion of that country began ! I see our country sliding downwards and I am sickened by it. Greed, avarice, corruption -- and that is just part of what our government is guilty of -- God save our children and raise them as people, not "parties" -- our adults are lost. E. Hughes
Bravo! We need more Americans of this Gentleman's caliber. It would be an honor to shake his hand and give him several pats on the back. T.G. Freeny, Byram, MS
I was so thrilled to read what this wonderful, true, patriotic American, wrote. If memory serves me right, Kerry hasn't worked an "Honest" day in HIS life, but managed to marry two very wealthy women....and he is a Democrat. And Kennedy hasn';t worked an "Honest" day in HIS life, and he is Democrat. So where does John Dean come off saying such nonsense.
