First of all, Mr. Butler, there is no such word as "ralliers". Perhaps you could substitute "assemblers", or "gatherings, gatherers". Secondly, it seems you and many others are assuming that to have an "anti-war" philosophy or to not support our President's decision to invade another country as well as harbour doubts concerning the war agenda means that these protesters are not patriotic and do not pray or have support for our troops. Quite the contrary. The majority of these people have those views because of the tragedy that occurs when our soldiers die for a patriotic belief. If war cannot be avoided, there is no doubt in my mind that these same protesters pray FERVENTLY for the safety of our troops. Just because the majority of the "anti-war" protesters do not trust our president and disagree with him, does NOT mean they are unpatriotic. Some believe our president possesses the most unpatiotic traits of all with the way he is leading our country. It is a wonderful country, indeed, that allows and encourages differences such as these websites and open debates discussing our passionate views. Thank you for this comment page and all that you do. To Mr. Spering and Mary - I applaud you both for at least voicing your opinions and being brave enough to place your names on the statement (Mary who?) Mary- I agree with Mr. Sperling. Lets look at a differnent picture. I know of a few husbands who beat their wives. The husbands go to church, one is a Catholic and goes to confession every chance he gets, these husbands paise God verbally and stand before people they know and pray to God through Christ Jesus....... I see Bush in the same light. Sorry if this offends anyone. Free Speech! I am not a Liberal... but I also fear what I see happening. WAY TO MUCH MONEY POWER TO SO FEW. That will prove to be no better at all than living under a leader such as Sadden... wait and see... no "LOOK AND SEE." Yes I will wear red on Fridays - for the troops out in the battle field, following orders, doing the job they are told to do. Plus I'll wear red on Friday for ANTI WAR- Praise God and may God Bless the peoples of this world with Wisdom and Peace. AMEN.

To Mary--- another chap placed a website I suggest you STUDY. (The best website and most informative I have come across re: what is money and where does it come from is http://www.wizardsofmoney.org/episodes.html ) I've read many of the so called "Christian" books that are pro war. Frankly- I do not beleive those books are written by the hand of God. I continue to read and study and think about who says what on "BOTH SIDES" of this issue. There are books that claim that God's hand is guiding them... and the books disagree with each other. Guess that is why god blessed us with observation and reason. I seldom see many using both. I mean with all they have. Blind faith is a disease that is prolific in our culture. We are complaicent in believing what ever is the easiest to understand and we avoid true DEEP reasoning. I study, think and pray for insight and understanding. If you can not understand both sides of this war, if you only understand one side and only familiarise yourself with one sides philosophy.. I mean really walk in their shoes... you are a shallow thinker at best. I'll wear red for the troops, they are doing a job they are commanded to do. Something Bush himself played hookie on,,,, check that out if you don't beleive me. So again "Mary dear" I'll wear red for the troops.... but BLUE for True Democracy. Mary -Check the website out.... read it ALL!!! and Believe it or not.... I am more right than left... but I do not stand for everything that most right side (politically speaking) people beleive. Learn what they are saying on Wizrds of money. www.wizardsofmoney.org/episodes.html Learn it BIG TIME. Disagree with it -fine. But learn it first, otherwise you can not disagree with understanding. Blind Faith stinks. N.Sperling

I think this is an outstanding idea. We can let our troops know that we care without having to contend with group organizers. I really do care and say so often. Without having the young men and women and the not so young men and women support our nation in all times of need we would not be the country we are today and have hopes with God's help to be for many tomorrows to come. I took a tour in the Navy when it was my time to do so and am proud to say that I served my country honorably. Actually I gained so much from the time in the service that I served and was served by my fellow countrymen and women at the same time. God Bless America and each one of our wonderfully independant and often noble countrymen. Geri

I received this email today and it gave me the encouragement that I need until tomorrow. You see my husband and two sons are in the military. They are defending the freedoms so many take lightly. When my family is portrayed as child killers by anti-war protesters, it saddens my heart. Not because it hurts them. They know why they are over there. They understand the cost of freedom and they are willing to put there lives on the line to protect our country and free an oppressed people. This and every Friday I will red for my children's blood put in harms way; for my husband's blood, so that his children will never have to face tyranny from a dictator; and for the lives of the thousands of Iraqui people who have been brutally tortured and killed under the hands of Sadaam Hussein. I will wear red for my fellow citizens on 9-11 and remember my vow to never forget them. I will wear red for those who have bled for me that I might know and understand freedom. And I will say a prayer for those who excerise their right of freedom of speech to protest an act of deliverance, hoping someday they will see past their ignorance and understand that each person, whether here or abroad has the right to be free. The cost of freedom is great. Thank God for those who are willing to pay the price!

What has money got to do with what I said, N.Sperling? I didn't say anything about MONEY. If people would get off their butts and work we wouldn't have all these welfare programs and homeless people. That's the problem now, everyone expects the goverment to hand it to them.No wonder things are in the mess it's in. President Bush can't straighten all the crap out in 4yrs.that the LOVER BOY created.I know now why they say money is the root of all evil.Just remember you can't take it with you. I didn't say the "Books" I suggested were the absolute BIBLE.They are fiction and go along with what is going to happen in the last days. The refrences are there to go along with the BIBLE so you can look them up for your self. The end is near my friend, and I will pray for you now that I met you and know how you feel.I didn't mention anything about husbands beating their spouses, where did you get that from what I said? I am not stupid,I know these things happen,if your heart is right with God you won't be beating your wife in the first place.Give me a break.I support our troops and it's still a free country, and GOD BLESS AMERICA.MARY FROM SOUTH CAROLINA, BY THE WAY, "THIS IS BUSH COUNTRY"!!!!!! I am American, I am Patriotic and I am married to a United States Marine. I Fully support both my husband and ALL of our troops, as they carry out there jobs, for Lord knows they are not easy missions. These men and women deserve our respect and prayers, I think VERY FEW oppose such a view. What I oppose and actually detest is the simple minded and ignorant opinions like those posted here. What a huge incorrect assumption that ralliers and protesters against the war do not support our troops. I rally for peace and am anti-war and part of this is because I support our troops. People who think as you do need to slow down and take in the big picture. Being Anti-War, is NOT, I repeat NOT, being un-patriotic, anti-american or unsupportive of our troops. If MORE were anti-war, less of our troops, who we both support, would be widowing women, orphaning children and dieing before their time. Our troops lives are not worth Bush's vendetta. Ignorance breeds a belief that Saddam is responsible for September 11, that we are freeing and liberating a Nation and that we have any right to be there. Theese ignorances are not worth American lives, not the lives I support. Very Sincerely, Lisa M. Garza San Diego California

As a born again Christian and following Gods word, and it is his un-adulterated word. I whole heartedly believe every able bodied human being willing to serve in the armed forces of America, and living in this country, should have the right to make their own decisions without some protestor against the government telling them it is wrong. If you look at David in the bible, when he slew Goliath and Goliath did things which were wrong and needed to be taken out. He didn't ask anyone whether it was right or wrong. He just had faith that what he was doing was the right thing to do. President Bush, had to make some hard decisions, and like it or not, it is still right to fight the wrong doers in their own country, than have them coming to our borders. Would those of you who oppose this war stand up beside a family member, friend or co-worker and defend them, or would you say it was wrong. It would still cost money, and it would still be at the sacrifice of someone else's benefit. So please support those who are overseas and remember, tomorrow my son could be the one sent, since he is still subject to call of his unit. And believe me you, if he is killed, oh yes I'll be bitter, but I'll also be proud that he served like his family members before, and they have been in wars dating back as far as you can recall. We are proud of our support in this family, and will continue to be dispite the opposition. May God continue to bless you and your free speech rights, but also continue to Bless America as we strive to set freedom for a country that doesn't know what it is. Thanks. Don P.

Should he be called president? I always thought the person who was elected was to be called president,I'm not sure what you call someone who was selected. If Bush REALLY cared for ALL the military people then he wouldn't have hacked the veterans budget like he did. Seems he only gave raises to the people who are making him look good right now. Not only that but, the war in Iraq was won so easily due to all the newest state of the art defense equipment that Former President Clinton gave budget to while he was in office.W,s daddy didn't think we needed that kind of equipment to take down such a 3rd world country. We all saw how that came out.Bush didn't win this war any more than he won the election. Is it all just a coincidence that the state that made it possible for him to get selected was the same state that his brother was gov. And is it also just a coincidence that now the vice president x-company (that he still is a stock holder) got the job of putting out the oil well fires without even having to bid. Nothing like creating job security. Where are all those weapons of mass destruction that Bush has been trying to brainwash us into thinking they have. He changed the subject and went to (we have to free the people) just like he changed the subject from bin Laddin to Saddam Hussien. How long will it be before we start seeing american flags on Iraqi oil wells?Hey another coinicidence, the first job still is'nt finished.

OKAY...We indeed have some liberals here, who say that they can rally against the war and this country's president, and at the same time, support the troops who are fighting this war over in Iraq. Well, exactly which are you doing? I believe that the comments on the homepage only applied to those who were IN SUPPORT of President Bush and his efforts to take that animal, Saddam Hussein, off the face of this earth and make sure that he never touches or tortures another civilian of Iraq (or any other country), again. And, to those with the wool pulled over their eyes; You may not think that Hussein had anything to do with 9-11, but little do you know that he was a main financial supporter of the terrorist groups (yes, such as Al-Quaeda) that committed the atrocities here in America on that very day. Also, if the president didn't have reason to believe that Saddam and members of his staff were hiding evidence of chemical laboratories that were intended to create biological weapons to be used against other countries, do you think that he would subject himself to the abuse that he is receiving from those narcissistic Hollywood "celebrities", as well as other self-important people? As it turns out, none of these people possess the education and knowledge that it takes to make the judgments that George W. Bush has, yet they feel that somehow, their word is of more importance. I've got news for you...war exists in the Bible. It hasn't always been right, but nevertheless, if there was never a war, we would not have the freedoms that we do today in this country. That's a no-brainer. What we are accomplishing by fighting this war, is quite obvious. We are ridding the oppressed country of Iraq of a cruel and inhumane dictatorship. Regardless of what you may think, there is such a thing as a humanitarian effort, even though there will be some lives at risk. The military is there for a reason. We are liberating (yes, liberating; which, in this sense, means to give freedom to) the people of Iraq (for example, remember those women who, preceding Hussein's dictatorship, received a decent education, but were stripped of their ability to use it, as well as other liberties that they possessed prior to his takeover?). We are also rebuilding damaged areas of Iraq, so that its citizens can lead the lives that they want, and in hopes that a newer and better regime will bring a new and better economy to Iraq. You may have oppositions to what I've just stated, but c'est la vie.

Hi, I have a nephew in Iraq. He is a Marine--with special forces and he has done some pretty amazing things for this country so far. He is 20 years old and will come home a War Veteran, with and Honor for taking Um Qusr with his squad and fighting for three straight days with out rest and little food, so that other soilders could come in and lead the War with Iraq. When he was done there they turned it over to the Brit's and were orders to rest up. See he's on the team they fly in to do the job and get out. He was than called to serve his country again and was instrumental in saving Private Lynch. He's my man if he and his team cannot do it no one can !!! But, than I am pretty prejudice. I am so pround of him I could just cry everytime I think about it. But than again everytime I think about any/all of the men and women that are serving us, freeing me and my family and giving life back to the Iraqi people--I want to cry. The many, many others that fought before us to give us what we have today. I feel so stongly that no one has the right to protest anything--when there are people dying for us. I get so tired of hearing the opinions--yes we have a right to them but only because the soilder gave us that right--that freedom. Get over yourself!!! We are at war it's not like they are going to stop it because people want to whine. Were there--support the troops. Later if you want to debate go ahead let it rip, let your own kind listen to the crap and the rest of us will go on with our lives. I just can't stand the whining and the public discrace of oneself and of this country. I'd like to say be an American, Act like you are one you say you are, Support America "no matter what"---OR GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!! We have been lucky to see our boy on TV and hear from him. I talked to him last Thursday, he was hurt at the protesters. I told him to get past that and do your job. (I want him focused so he comes home alive). I told him to do what he was called to do. Imagine if we did not go over there and this Mad Hitler rose (again--different guy) and we were taken out, the whiners would have something else to complain about. Pround of you, the whole world is so get it done and come home. To sum it up--In his 20 years he's done more in hi life than I did in my 43 years alive. I have to take a breath at this one. I am the Auntie and I will stand proud for God, my family and this country--I am an American !!!!!! Auntie V

Tanks for such a great idea to show support for our troops. My 25 year-old son is in the army and is proud to be serving his country. Reading some of the posts made me sick. The people of Iraq are more grateful for their new found freedom than some Americans are for their own. This country is not perfect but we live in an imperfect world. I thank God daily for allowing me to be born and live in this great country. President Bush is not perfect either but I doubt any of his critics could lead our country as well as he has and is doing. Freedom of speech is a great thing but remember God says you will be held accountable for every word you utter. One person's post talked about our country being a democracy. Wrong!!! I'm so glad you are doing this. Good luck with your wonderful idea. I will gladly wear red, white, or blue on Fridays and I am passing this message on. We need to show our support somehow. The disgrace the actors and actresses have brought to our country is a lot to overcome for this country and the people of other countries watching us. The Democrats in Washington D.C. who have given our President so much hassle over everything need to know that many people of both parties support our President and we don't appreciate them putting their party before the good will of this country. How could anyone protest the war when they see how horrible Saddam was? His actions against his own people were actions of a barbarian! The protesters should be thanking God they live in a country like the U.S.A. If they think this country is bad under George Bush, they are not dealing with a full deck. Many don't even know why they are protesting. They are just following the crowd. I hope this endeaver is successful and the world will see that we love living in Freedom and support our Commander in Chief and our troops 100 percent!

Our troops did what they had to do with dignity and love for their country, president and, most of all, their families. It was a shame to lose any life that we lost. Times past will show the history of America that the people before us had to pay a price too and sometimes that price is higher than we wish to pay. This was something that had to be done for humanity sake or other Sodoms would have taken over our free country too. After all, what does everyone think 9/11 was all about. Terrorists letting us know that they can do anything they want any time they want. And, if we are going to sit on our rears and watch it and pretend it isn't happening--we are smacking other heros in the face who sacrifice their lives in times past to make it the great country that it is today. Before you can chastise the few who sit on their ass and collect handouts I suggest you take a look at and learn more about the system of money.... if you were to spend 3 hours and go over the first 3 episodes on wizards of money "maybe" you would see that you and I do not think that different.... except I beleive the system of money is the problem that is causing so many to give up and live on the dole. Do check it out. http://www.wizardsofmoney.org/episodes.html It WILL prove to be a very big eye opener... maybe you'll still stand where you do- fine I'll accept that AFTER YOU STUDY WHAT I HAVE SUGGESTED... once you studied it you will at least then be able to comprehend what it is I am against. Mary- this IS a war about money... and our so called liberating Iraq will place the peoples there in an economic downswing that will do more harm to them and their life style than what they were living under before. The Only way to understand how I could say such a thing is to study the info on http://www.wizardsofmoney.org/episodes.html and beleive me... it is what will happen. Pay attention to the widening gap between rich and poor... and trust me- that gap widening is NOT THE RESULT of some being more lazy than others. Understanding how money REALLY works is the only way you'll grasp what I'm talking about.

I agree that the unpatriotic people are the ones getting the attention, but it will always be that way because the rank and file new media are socialist liberal way to the left. Just pay attention what and how they broadcast the news. Thanks you for doing something that will get true Americans attention even without the news coverage which it will not get...except FOX news which is fair...Bob Waggener, Peoria, Az.

I am proud of our President. I am proud of our troops. I am saddened that so many people believe we can sit back and let terrorists take out 5,000 of our people, the jobs that went with them, and the peace of mind many had about travel and living in our country without doing ANYTHING to make someone accountable. I cannot believe that the same people who want us to feed the world, save the whales and the rainforest, don't care about saving peoples lives in a country where one MAN says who lives and dies. We have isolated and insulated our lives in such a way that we are blinded to the fact that someone very like Hitler is trying to build his own Reich. In fact, anyone who thinks Mr. Hussein would not have expanded his realm with force, would not have killed and supported terrorism on a world wide scale, is not living in the real world. He & Mr. Ben Ladin had the same agenda, death to the infidels, and if you ARE not in his group you ARE the infidel. They do not care if you are peace loving, concession minded people, you are NOT one of them, and are not worth the dust under their feet. 12 years is long enough, It is time to draw a line, stand up and be AMERICAN - BH,Houston

Just my opinion, but I think there is a lot more information we do not know about that went into the decision to go to war. I recently was listening to the radio on the way to work and heard an Iraqi woman call in to say shame on you who are against Bush. She told of being born and raised to the age of 17 in Iraq under Sadam's rule. She told that if people there spoke out against Sadam the way people here speak out against Bush, Sadam would come to their homes, cut out their tongues and force them to watch while he raped their children. I too served my time in the Navy and am divorced and raising 6 children on my own. I would fight to help people in that country, just becase I have 6 children and cannot imagine what they would have to do to me to force me to watch while someone raped one of my children! That is dispicable! That womans speach alone is what made me think this was the right thing to do! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND BRING THEM HOME SAFELY AND SOON! THANK GOD BUSH IS NOT SADAM AND WE LIVE IN THE USA! I will look up the web site where you can go to listen to that womans recorded phone call and post it as soon as I can! Sandy

I care deeply about our troops, but please don't suggest that folks are UnAmerican if they question the use of force in Iraq. Lots of veterans and loyal Americans have questioned the new move to PREEMPTIVE wars instead of defensive ones. If we can't question our government's tactics in time of war, then we don't really have the freedoms that many have died for. Show support for the service men and women, but also show support for those who voice their beliefs on corners and in rallies. We are all one nation.

Thank you for posting this page. I wear red, white and blue often and have for years. I am proud to be an American and thank God that I live in this country. Over the years I have observed that the vocal, liberal left want to tell me what to think and feel. NO WAY! I have observed that the leftist protestors doin't want the other parts of society to protest their actions. Why is that? As a resident and voter from Tennessee let me set one record straight. George W. Bush is our ELECTED president. May I remind those whiners you call him selected that if Gore had won the electorial votes from his so called "home state", he would have been the elected president. I have heard and read about this being "Bush's War" until I am sick of it. I know that for many "protestors" no proof of why the war was necessary will be good enough. I have yet to hear from any of them a plan to make all the world a better place. I only hear from them what is wrong with the United States. Do they. in fact, have a plan or are they just "protestors" for the publicity it generates or because they think that they alone know what is right for America to do. I certainly hope that the spelling of the word ELITISM to describe them is correct. I would hate to have the learned people from the left feel it necessary to correct my spelling. To N.Sperling, I clicked on to the site you posted to Mary. The way I see that site and a lot of others posted are people posting their own opinions. Because Bush or anybody else has money has nothing what so ever to do with his leadership. He is a descent, moral man of high intregrity in my book and usually when people say that money is the reason for something, they are in most cases jealous and spitful people. Would you care to say the same goes for Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton? Take the Kennedy's for instance. Are there any sites that show how the Kennedy's got all their money from boot-legging moon-shine? God bless America!! Wear the Red, White and Blue. Nora

To Martha R.....A question for you. Who delegated America to be the saviour for other countries??? Seems to me there is no point for the U.N. to exist. To Nora.....You can bet your bottom dollar that Bush and Blair have as many skeletons in their closets as the other presidents you mentioned. What makes you think Bush is pure? The other presidents were so called religious too!! The three worst evils in this world are, Money, Sex, and Religion...because all three are used to manipulate others for personal gain. To N. Sperling.....take that other persons advice and keep on sucking lemons, as they obviously have given you an intelligent brain. Good on you. May-be you, Richard Lewis and Neils should run for presidential positions in the next election. You wouldn't win...you're all too honest and are NOT sheep. Do people know that Red is the psychological colour for aggression and danger?? Good choice???? As for weapons of mass destruction...of course Iraq HAS got them (well hidden) and I would like a list of the countries that haven't. I'll bet it's a short one, and I'll also bet that America wouldn't be on that list!!! ONE Aussie, Carol, Queensland Australia.

Nora- Nice meeting you! During the Vietnam war, (south democratic- north communist) the "boys" with the money I am referring to, lent money to s. Vietnam for a return, these same "boys" lent money to Russia- knowing that Russia would fund n.Vietnam.... therefore getting a return on both sides the war... this was not enough- events were manipulated to involve the US... now getting a return on the American Tax payer for arms and weapons manufacturing among other things. The leaders of the hippy peace movement knew what they were doing however very few that jumped on "that" band wagon had any idea at all. Nora- You seem to ASS-U-ME that I am totally left.... not a chance, but to much right is coming round to become another form of left... "that is simply what you do not see." Kennedy- went along with the "boys" for a time, then decided to much was no good "boom"- Reagan did the same and when he decided too much they attempted a "boom", but he surprised the boys and survived.... Nora, and others who are looking, let me ask you "at what point does too much wealth in the hands of too few become too much?"- "How much control, in the form of money power, will you give them before you see that it is becoming just another form of mass control?". I'm afraid too many people run around with their head down... Believe me- I am PRO- FREE ENTERPRISE. REWARDS for EFFORTS. But look at the right side of your pay check- look at the buying power of YOUR disposable income.... you may be doing VERY well and don't feel the pinch, but many who are working as hard as you and do not earn as much as you know what I mean. WAY WAY WAY to much WEALTH into the HANDS of FAR TOO FEW. Capitalism IS going to become just the next form of control unless more people wake up! AGAIN - "I AM for" rewards for efforts..... but I am not for my rewards being stripped away by power hungry "VERY WEALTHY" control freaks. There is a BIG difference from those who advocate state hand outs and where I stand... but you still are not looking high enough up the pyramid of money to understand what I am talking about. Wizards of money is NOT a liberal minded give to the poor hand outs- lecture. You are obviously right thinking... GOOD... but you are looking too far from the top of the MONEY pyramid to see the CONTROL that is happening... you being right side thinking and you still do not see the right side at all! Sperling here again with a paste from a G7 summit meeting article. Food for thought for those who think.... Standing at the center of global governance there must be effective, representative intergovernmental institutions, starting with the United Nations. The representation and legitimacy problems of the G8/G7 need to be addressed, but these problems cannot be solved without first addressing the representation and structural problems that beset the UN. Policies are needed that will ensure a system of global governance that has both strong decision making institutions at the center and informal, consultative groups around the perimeter. In their role as responsible global leaders, G8/G7 policymakers should adopt agendas that foster such a global governance system. At the same time the leaders and ministers can advocate policies that will go a long way toward meeting its stated objective in 1975 of "strengthening democratic societies everywhere." These include: - Proceed with earlier commitments made during the Asian financial crisis to reform the international financial architecture to address the problem of large, speculative capital flows instead of its present focus on patching the architecture's cracks and its asymmetric attention to reforming the policies of borrowing nations. - Increase economic aid commitments at least to the UN target of 0.7% of the donor's gross domestic product. (The U.S. contributes less than one-seventh of this target, the lowest level of any major industrialized nation.) - Substantially expand the 1999 Cologne summit's commitment to IMF/World Bank debt relief programs, eliminating 100% of the bilateral and multilateral debt of the poorest nations. - Commit (without demanding parallel commitments from developing countries) to substantial cuts in carbon emissions at least as deep as those called for in the Kyoto Protocol. - Provide leadership in countering international terrorism that focuses on multilateral action, maintains respect for human rights, and addresses crises like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that spark terrorism. Finally, return to where it began-macroeconomic policy coordination among industrialized nations-with policy recommendations to address the structural problems in their own economies that could jeopardize global economic stability. First up for review should be the U.S. economy, with its unsustainable trade deficits and private debt-both of which are at record highs. Also, in keeping with a renewed focus on macroeconomic policy coordination, the G8/G7 should strive for an agreement among Washington, Brussels (EU), and Tokyo to reduce the volatility of the three key exchange rates of the current international financial system by agreeing to impose upper and lower bands on the euro-dollar, dollar-yen, and euro-yen exchange rates, along with measures-such as a currency exchange tax-to reduce speculative attacks on these rates. The G8/G7 would go a long way toward improving its credibility as an important forum of global leaders if it distanced itself from the professions of belief in free trade ideology that have characterized past summits. At the same time, the G7 leaders should refocus their attention on the grave global affairs crises-including security (arms proliferation), economic (increasing social polarization and marginalization), and environmental problems (global climate change)-for which the wealthy nations are primarily responsible.

Mary - Thanks for the easter wish... same to you. True- My bible says that there "will" be wars... revelations makes that clear. But it does NOT say that wars are RIGHT.... Clearly is says "Do not to kill". Plain and simple!!! Actually the Budhist take that passage all the way. They move the earthworms found when buiding a dwelling... so the worms are not killed. They eat plants (vegitarian)... so they do not kill!!! Another commented on greed sex, drugs and religion as weapons to control.... true true true. Gandhi said there are many paths to God.... although he was not a biblical prophit he was a remarkable man. Led a complete nation through prayer, fasting and "non-violence".... a walking breathing example of all Jesus preached yet he was not a christian. However, in my humble view- he was guided by the same God as was the Saviour... and sadly my view of our "selected" leader does not come close. Yes.... Happy easter! And Peace to the whole world..... Peace through Greater understanding..... even if one has to debate to achieve that greater understanding...... N.Sperling

It is so wonderful that there are so many people that are proud to be an American and living here in the land of the free. I will also wear Red, white and Blue. My husband is retired Air Force and very proud of his 26 years he served. It such a shame that we can't just be proud of our troops and country for helping these poor people who lived in pure hell all these years being tortured and heaven only know what else. Why can't we just accept this without all the petty statements. Thank you and I will send this to all my friends. Sue Parker Marion, N.C. I am very proud to be an American too! I do not agree with this war. It is wrong! What happened on 09/11 is terrible! --------No one has proven that Saddam Hussein was behind that terrible event. ------- He is a villainous leader. There are ways of dealing with that. The U.S. going to war when there is no immanent threat is irresponsible. There is a process that the world community can follow and that is through the U.N. As a nation we are tearing apart all that we have worked hard for over 200 years to build. That we are a nation built on principles that honor the best in the human spirit, and honors God. We have transgressed from commonly accepted international norms in trying to help a captive people. Vengeance begets vengeance. Just because we happen to be a super power at this time in history does not give us the right to abuse that power by inflicting our President's will not just upon Saddam and his regime, but upon the whole world community. The so called wisdom of our present administration is not greater than the collective wisdom of the larger world community that we live in and take part in. The cost of this war will be mind boggling. Thanks to this administration, not even 1 penny has been included in next years budget to assist with the rebuilding of Afghanistan after all of our bombings, not to mention that Mr. Bin Laden is still on the loose. I DO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. I hope you will be just as convinced in calling upon our president, Mr. Bush to be more reasonable with the budget so that our troops will be cared for in a humane way when they return, especially those wounded and in need of health resources. The president will never be able to "support our troops" by giving huge tax breaks to our wealthiest citizens and also care for our "wounded troops" when they will be in need. There will not be enough monies to provide for their care, as is already evidenced by the lack of care for the troops from the last Gulf War. Yes I am proud to be an American, I do support our troops, but I believe that we are fighting a war that is wrong, because we have gone into it without the support of the rest of the world, and with Great Arrogance. This Self-Serving Pride will come back to haunt us. Also in the mean time, watch our taxes go up to pay for all this. And who wins when our taxes go up? ----- The same people who win when oil profits hit "their" pockets... --- It is not our troops, nor the average American that will benefit. Period. Peace eventually, . Giancarlo

Dear N. Sperling, Just when I had decided to not log on to this site anymore, it got interesting. Just love your sense of humour, and if you ever decide to leave 'The Greatest Country in the World' I'm sure our HUMBLE Australia would welcome you with open arms. We like intelligent people over here. While this sort of web site can be somewhat entertaining, it's not really achieving anything constructive...just a lot of people airing their views and having the freedom to do so. Isn't that what Hollywood actors are doing?? and being condemmed for so doing?? The bottom line is this...people have differing opinions and always will have, and there's no point in arguing about yours, as people will always believe what they WANT to. I wrote something once and the sad fact is, I actually believe it to be true, "REAL HAPPINESS IS AN UNATAINABLE ILLUSION, CREATED BY THE MISGUIDED FEW, ESPECIALLY FOR THE IGNORANT MILLIONS, WHO WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN SEX AND MONEY." The only happiness we get, is what we make for ourselves. I'm begining to think N. Sperling, that you and I might answer to a different Higher Power than the norm, so our opinions WOULD seem radical to others. Am I right??? Bush has power and money (I won't go to the other thing) I think that says it all. Oh by the way, Red not only symbolises arrogance and danger...it's also used to denote anger. I too will wear BLUE. One Aussie, Carol, Queensland Australia.

I feel our men and women on our Armed Forces is doing a great job. They willing put their life on the line that we can sleep in a safe place. In a nice cozy bed. They are seperated from their spouses and children to give us freedom. Yes Freedom even to those that want to protest it. I don't want war nor did any one. But there comes a time that you have to stand up to the plate. I would rather fight it there as to having it kill many more then they have already done by 9-11. Funny how people can forget so quickly that WE were attacked. We didn't attack them. Thousands died in 9-11. I have a Step Son in the Armed Services and I'm very proud of him. We live in a great country but by just standing by and not standing up will only lead to defeat. We need to pray for our president that he had the courage to stand up to the plate and call the shots. GOD BLESS AMERICA

Mary- Interesting you took the time to Thank the person who placed the information above. I checked it out.... Mary- The creator gave mankind three gifts 1) the gift of observation ... 2) the gift of reason... 3) the gift of a soul within (christians call that christ power within). The first two gifts are for us to use. The creator wants us to use observation and reason... yes we are to have faith- but NOT BLIND FAITH. The link supplied above has a headline "Erosion_of_Civil_Liberties". Did you observe that? Careful study of the detailed information on that page is required. (reason). Who ever placed that link did me justice big time. While the sheep are focused on front page news- (the war and "liberating Iraq") - the knife of the powerful is slipping smoothly into our backs. But we do not see it. Why? Because we do not use our two gifts of Observation and Reason. That site "Erosion_of_Civil_Liberties" is filled with a timeline of information to back MY BELIEFS fully. I'm greatful you thanked the chap for supplying the information. Now- use your reason and your powers of observation and study that site in detail. Erosion_of_Civil_Liberties.... N.Sperling

Jesus was clear on that one. Bible also says there will be others come who will do more..... The saviour taught Love, Peace and Forgiveness...(non-violence as Gandhi proved possible)... The huge mistakes of the peoples of the earth before Christ, all evolved around the principle of Peace through force (war)... thus God gave us Jesus- the Prince of "PEACE." God knew humanity would continue to screw that message up and thus the predictions/prophesies of further wars remain in tact.... and thanks to some people who are in powerful leadership roles the prophesies are still holding true today. Vengeance begets vengeance. Peace does not become a reality through force. It never has and it never will. Here is something I wrote three years ago --- {There is an awesome POWER, in "accepting" patience. There is immense JOY, found in the moment when one "lets go" and simply enjoys lifes journey. There is an incredible CALM, found in courage as one "embraces" change. There is an unshakable FAITH, found when ones attention is focused on "just" the next step. Finally, when one finds a GENTLENESS, in a love... you will find an increase of power, calm, faith and PEACE. words by N. Sperling April 18, 2000}

Our troops should not be there. A lesson from the bible of PEACE and an example from Gandhi in modern times is proof there was a better way. A way that would NOT provoke so much continuing hatred. As President Theodore Roosevelt said in 1918 -- "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." ... thus Byrd stands where I do..... earthling first- american second. Actually, the 50 percent figure you quoted about children is not accurate. Actually, 50% of the people in Iraq are under the age of 20. Using the word children is quite a stretch wouldn't you think? As far as Bush keeping a plane from landing offering medical aid to Iraqi children; the place they wanted to land was an unsecured area and the troops couldn’t provide the security that was needed at that time. And of course you got this from BBC news, which is as usual a liberal and negative view of things that the US government is associated with. You need to watch FOX news for a ‘fair and balanced’ view of things. CNN, BBC etc., are always going to stress the negative, as long as a Republican is in office. They always have, and always will. As far as your Zen view of the world, On the surface it sounds interesting, but while you are finding your inner peace, the rest of the world is trying to figure out ways to remove your inner peace. Peace will not truly be available until the second coming, however we can cope with things of this world, by ever being vigilant and being careful who our ‘partners’ are. You say its always about power and money, but ‘duh’ it has always been that way. What you are unwilling to accept is that without the power and money in this country, you wouldn’t have the freedom of writing on this forum etc. I suspect you and your Aussie friend are the kind of folks who will put your head in the sand looking for inner peace and one accord with all creatures, while your enemies are knocking down your door. Richard- thanks for correcting my point re:age of children (teenagers are still children in my books... they still live at home- so we are BOTH correct)and also the news that the plane was trying to land in an unsecured area.(were you there to witness who is REALLY telling the truth?) I do not watch any news on TV. The media in N. America is owned by far too few hands for clear truth to surface. There will always appear a "slight" hidden adjenda. The media has no power in telling us what to think--- but they have far to much power in telling us what to think about. I surf the newspapers of many countries and get a wide view from many perspectives. You believe what you want re: the second coming.... most Christians take a shallow word for word view of that point and untill one develops "true depth" it will appear to be the truth. No matter who is right- the truth will remain the truth... and WE COULD BOTH end up being wrong. N.Sperling- Wear Blue or Green!

To N. Sperling, This is an addendum to my previous message. I was reading some of your previous comments and you said 'Do not forget history- The Roman Empire bullied it's way to power and riches.... remember what happened to Rome'. Rome had power, but what caused Rome to fall was the 'corrupt' and liberal view that all things are okay to do. The moral fiber of Rome was so degraded, that no one took law and order seriously. All semblance of power was gone because of their lust for all things sensual. This of course is what the United States and other countries have to deal with also. Money and power won't cause us to go under, it will be the corrupt view of morals that are prevelant and the 'liberal' view of 'if it feels good - do it' is being fed to our children. We all are responsible for doing the moral thing. Not only our Churches and institutions, but whats in the inner man/woman that will control what our conduct and future destiny will be. Richard

One more point Richard--- you said "What you (meaning me) are unwilling to accept is that without the power and money in this country, you would not have the freedom of writing on this forum etc." I totally disagree. There are very poor countries where freedom of speech is the norm. Truth is- anyone anywhere who has access to the web (even if it is not their own computer).... now has freedom of speech. They may risk their lives in writing and doing so... but so are the boys doing Bush's jobs in Iraq. Money and power "duh" are not the tools of free conversation and free thinking. Victor Frankl wrote a book "Mans Search For Meaning" ....worth a read! Don't worry--- it is NOT a "ZEN" philosophy book- and stop referring me to liberal thinking. Many times I have stated I believe in Free enterprise and rewards for efforts.... the governing powers need only be there to govern. Environmental issues and humanitain issues can never be thrown away for profit... Too few have too much.... that has always been my point... and that is what I beleive is wrong with this whole war thing. The people behind IMF and the Federal reserves are simply weilding too much power for control... it has to stop! Peace through Greater Understanding! Wear Blue or green! Sperling

I can't help but wonder why that any American would WANT to believe or trust another country over your own? That just blows me away! I never once advocated "anything goes." To be open minded is far different than liberal minded. I believe in cause and effect... what you plant you reap. To take control and act without the consensus of the United Nations is an action similar to all dictators. To believe that any one version of the written word is the only interpretation is nothing short of believing in a dictator. The only person who ever knows your relationship with the divine is you... the only person who ever knows my relationship with the divine is me. I can share my point of view as you can share yours. I respect yours fully... and I wont stoop so low as to asking you to leave this country. Nor will I stoop so low as to call someone a rag top for their choice of beliefs. Where a person chooses to live in todays world should be their own business and choice. The world is far to small. May Peace unite the family of man on this spinning globe of earth and water. May the leaders take into consideration both the environment and mankind in total. I'll continue to wear blue... supporting the troops, voting for veteran health care sufficient to help our fellow men who followed orders. I'll continue to stand on the principles found in my heart as I know you will do the same from your heart. I'll always stand on the phrase "Peace through understanding... not force." This will be my last post as I have said enough to share my views..... N.Sperling - neils@excite.com

Sperling, You said "To take control and act without the consensus of the United Nations is an action similar to all dictators". I would like to know who ever blessed the UN with that kind of hoped for power? It may have been a dream right after the second WW, but the UN has shown since its conception, that it is incompetent and unable to take firm stands anywhere. It was the United States with its Wealth and Power that finally toppled the Soviet incluence in this world. The UN is a NUL enterprise, as is shown over and over again. Of course France, Germany and Russia would like the UN to control things, as they have a vested interest in the UN machine that grinds so slowly, nothing ever gets done of any consequence. History has shown what these Three Nations have done, when THEY had wealth and 'power'. At least the USA has a corperate moral conscience to at least try to do the right thing, which by the way comes from our early Fathers, who had a firm understanding of right and wrong and Christian principles, to draft a wonderful constitution, and put our country together in such a way that is an example to all to behold even with all its shortcomings. We may be a young country, wealthy and strong but I believe that God has allowed us to be here at this time, to keep things in check around the World, certainly not the UN.

For all of the ugliness and tragedy of 9-11, there was a brief period afterward where I held a great hope, in the midst of the tears and shocked faces of New Yorkers, in the midst of the lethal air we breathed as we worked at Ground Zero, in the midst of my children's terror at being so close to this crime against humanity, in the midst of all this, I held on to a glimmer of hope in the naive assumption that something good could come out of it. I imagined our leaders seizing upon this moment of unity in America, this moment when no one wanted to talk about Democrat versus Republican, white versus black, or any of the other ridiculous divisions that dominate our public discourse. I imagined our leaders going on television telling the citizens that although we all want to be at Ground Zero, we can't, but there is work that is needed to be done all over America. Our help is needed at community centers to tutor children, to teach them to read. Our work is needed at old-age homes to visit the lonely and infirmed; in gutted neighborhoods to rebuild housing and clean up parks, and convert abandoned lots to baseball fields. I imagined leadership that would take this incredible energy, this generosity of spirit and create a new unity in America born out of the chaos and tragedy of 9/11, a new unity that would send a message to terrorists everywhere: If you attack us, we will become stronger, cleaner, better educated, and more unified. You will strengthen our commitment to justice and democracy by your inhumane attacks on us. Like a Phoenix out of the fire, we will be reborn. And then came the speech: You are either with us or against us. And the bombing began. And the old paradigm was restored as our leader encouraged us to show our patriotism by "shopping and by volunteering to join groups that would turn in their neighbor for any suspicious behavior." In the 19 months since 9-11, we have seen our democracy compromised by fear and hatred. Basic inalienable rights, due process, the sanctity of the home have been quickly compromised in a climate of fear. A unified American public has grown bitterly divided, and a world population that had profound sympathy and support for us has grown contemptuous and distrustful, viewing us as we once viewed the Soviet Union, as a rogue state.

Mary- Who gave you the chair of chief judge? Let the readers comment who won the debate. ----->>>>> To the Readers/judges---Who supplied the most crucial backup information to support their argument? (remember readers... you are judging who won the debate, you are not choosing which side you are on yourself) Which writer - Nora, Mary, Richard or Sperling has used logic and reason? Which writer remained the calmest and chose the most humorous methods of criticism verses who were the writers that lost their cool and let emotions rule and thus resort to name calling and the like? Which writer caused you to think deeper, maybe even to the point of changing your own beliefs? <<<<---- Thanks Readers for your judging expertise.---___--- What time will soup be ready?

I knew you couldn't stay off here to long. The heat got you and you had to get off for awhile. Simmer down,it's not that bad yet!!! The soup was delicious,it's a GERMAN recipe, thought that my get your attention.I know who made the comments above, and for you Sperling, you don't seem to be as SPARKY and up on things as you thought you were. OUR PRESIDENT,Mr BUSH was ELECTED.Where have you been so long.Got to get out more, and listen to the news, and observe what's going on around you.Being from N.Y. I would have thought that by now,you would have heard that BUSH won. "GEEZ", you really are behind.Go look it up for yourself, it's in there. We are not a nation of idiots yet.If you will read all the above posts you will see that the American's are behind our "PRESIDENT",I would say 99.9% of the time. They don't take the time to answer you at all, they just write the things that are on their minds. I guess they don't like all your rambling. And besides I can tell when a person has given up.I don't need a black robe,a gavel, and a leather chair to see that.I really hope you get the peace over the weekend that you say is within,we don't want you to get to heated up,that's not good.Facts are facts why can't you except it and move on. To Sparky, Evidently anyone who disagrees with your view of things, are BLINDLY following what you call our President a 'selected' SOB. You folks are no better than those who you complain about who are not using their mind and not thinking things through. You don't have to be an intellectual to value what is right in this country. I'm sure that had Gore been 'selected', we would have been in one hell of a mess now. He would have just continued the liberal trend that Clinton fostered. At least my country is behind President Bush, and all polls show that and have since his ELECTION. Get with it, and join the majority. If I'm not mistaken, in this country the majority rules. So try not to be a sore looser. - Richard

On this Holy day I would firsr like to wish everyone a HAPPY EASTER. Secondly, after reading all the letters posted on this site I am amazed at how this format has turned into a name calling debate. We have several writers attacking N. Sperling and an unpleasant exchange going on between Richard and Sparky. My question is: How is this type of behavior helping the initial intent of this site? Lastly, When reading each and every letter I find that the only writer involved in these debates willing to identify himself or herself is N.Sperling. I have to admire him for his courage to do so. I am for the truth. Pro War or Anti War? - Pro Bush or Anti Bush? I have done extensive research on these questions and have found the following web-site to be most convincing , (http://awolbush.com If the information posted on this site is not true, please feel free to inform me. I think your idea of support for the troops is very juvenile. Wearing a certain color of clothes does nothing to support the troops and will have no effect. Your name calling of people who cherish the Constitution of the United States who are demonstrating their opinion that is different than our governments by marching and caring signs is also juvenile. People like you do no believe in the true emplimentation of democracy. You are typical of so many ultraconservatives who think everyone has to believe in your uninformed, childish view of our country and it's foreign policies. Please educate yourself so that you can be of use to our country.

I for one will continue to care about and support all of the troops that are living up to the commitment they made when they joined the armed forces of this country. I will pray for their safe return home, and their good health upon that return. I will also continue to exercise my right to disagree with George W. Bush whenever I choose, because it is my right. In reading many of these comments here I saw alot of "America, love it or leave it." That also was a popular saying during the Vietnam era. I don't know how many making comments here remember that time in our history, but our country was also divided over that war. In the end, after years of sending our 19 year olds off to senseless slaughter, it was admitted that the war was wrong, we shouldn't have been there. The simple, and unforgivable reason for keeping it going was that "It was profitable." Unfortunately, it took 30 years for this admission to surface. I wonder if this time it is any different. I know I don't trust Mr. Bush. He's never given me any reason to blindly follow his reasoning just because he is the President. His justification for everything he is doing to the America I love, comes to us in a fashion that reminds me of brainwashing. It scares me that so many are willing to believe anything he says just because he said it. What happened to thinking for ourselves??? We not only have the right, we have the duty to question our leaders. Many have died for that right, and it is a right we should take seriously. Just because someone is elected (or appointed) doesn't mean they should have been, or will do what's right.

Date: 18 Apr 2003 ONE Aussie...To the person who didn't sign your "very intelligent" little note to 'Sperling and me' I pasted the whole thing, so you would get my thankyou for inviting me to go live in the Far East. I will have to decline as I am already living in what I believe is "The Best Country' and yes, my unsupporter, I do need to poke my nose into whatever effects me and my country, as over the years, Australia's government tends to have moments of complete insanity and decides to follow some things America is doing. Just like this war...which will only make the rich richer and the poor (that's me) poorer. You will realise in time that this war WAS about money (OIL) and I'm not wasting my time on this debate any longer. One thing your government could have done, was to be honest about the reasons behind the war. The Iraqies freedom was secondary. BIG JOKE!!! ........................................................................... Time: 08:23:52 Comments To the person who gave gave the info above, "Thanks" you can't tell RAG-HEADS anything. They need to go read it,but it still won't prove anything to these two.Aussie go get a rag,you and Sperling, and go to the Far East and stay there. You "Aussie" don't need to stick your nose into anything that's going on here,I don't care who your parents were.Like I said, go get your RAGS and have a good time. You and Sperling can have all the "CHICKEN" you want there.I have my RED on today, and it's such a nice color. ONE Aussie, signing out...I suppose the Iraqis could be asking by now 'ARE YOU HERE WITH THE SOLUTION OR ARE YOU PART OF THE PROBLEM??" I don't think they would care WHAT color you wear for the troops, what Hollywood actors are saying, or what started this farce of a war. THEY would be too busy burying their COLLATERAL damage, finding ANY clothes to wear (any color) and trying to just SURVIVE, till the God-all-mighty good ole' U.S.A. puts their country back together. Perhaps everybody should be wearing BLACK on Sundays to support THEIR grief for their LOSS that the U.S.A., Britian and Australia caused. But...THEY don't want your flag waving, color wearing platitudes. They need REAL help and fast! You people just don't have any idea! The troops are tough enough to kill for the reasons they have been told, so I should think they will be tough enough to survive any critisism, 'IF' THEY HAVE THE COURAGE OF THEIR CONVICTIONS!' They are no longer Virgin Soldiers, but there will be some who will have nightmares for a long time to come, when the truth of this war finally rears it's ugly head, and about what has been done. These are the ones who will need support, and the ones I feel for. What I said in a previous letter "God only knows what ramifications Australia will suffer for joining in," is now becoming a reality. The latest Turkish news is, there are plans for suicide bombers and time activated bombs to be part of the Gallipoli parade, targeted specially at Australians. Remember Bali????, or wern't there enough 'Americans' there, to bother to remember? Wonder what "little" surprises are in store for the U.S.??? Haven't heard much from Bush lately, has he gone AWOL again? Some Iraqis are happy about the war, some are not...they are the ones you have to look out for. 'EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL AND POSITIVE REACTION' This war was NOT pay-back for Sept. 11, was NOT to free the Iraqis, as there WERE other options. IT WAS ABOUT OIL!!!!!!!!!Good luck all, Carol.

Sperling, Your last post really shows the ignorance of SOME PEOPLE and how they DO NOT THINK! The US is the escape goat for Saddam's use of money for oil wherein he has built 48 new palaces since the '91 war. Just think of all that money being used to build his marble walls and gold faucets for his bathrooms and his people starving to death! Did you see all the boxes of cash that has been found hidden in bunkers? Up in the billions and climbing! But its all the US's fault, don't you know! Now to the sentence about Bush being (appointed.) Someone needs to go back and read the history of this country and how things were set up. First we are a democratic Republic. Our form of government is not elected by popular vote alone, for check and balances we have the electoral college. Nora

Sperling. Why don't you just get with it,and admit that you are a nut case. You write all these posts and you pretend to be someone else, anyone can see that it a takes a DUMB,and I do mean DUMB person to post, and pretend to be some else, and then answer that post. You don't see anyone answering you,and now you know why. They just casually go on about their business, and Sperling is still just doing what he does best, accuse the Bush Administration for all the woes of this world.I read through all the posts today, and you have spent a lot of time writting, and answering yourself, when you could have been catching up on the lastest news,or reading some good book, instead of all the garbage that has really taken over your mind. Why not read the Holy Bible,it's got a lot in there about wars, and more wars from the begining of time.Go read about Cain and Able.Yes you have a right to your opinion, but don't belittle the very country that you say is YOUR COUNTRY.It's just not the right thing to do at a time when all of America is so proud of our soldiers. Let's watch and see if this thing is about oil,and I wonder how long you would go without some of THAT gasoline in your car.It all boils down to what can I get out of this, and the answer is TRY to do something constructive, instead of tearing down this AMERICA that we all love so dearly, this apparently doesn't include YOU, and that's ok with the majority. I just received this email. I will wear red for the troops. I will also wear red for the freedom the troops are fighting for. Even if those like Sperling and I do not agree with each other, I'll wear red for him too and I welcome him into this great country, because, it is the diversity of people in this land called America that makes it so beautiful. I find it appalling that so many on this Internet page would have "anyone" run out of America for what ever their beliefs. I think Sperling is well versed in the Bible, although he takes a different stand than some others. Maybe that is why we have Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, Morman, Christian Reform and the all the others. (so strange- Catholics and Protestants been at war for centuries) Life is so beautiful with ALL it's glorious colors. I do not agree with Sperling. Bush is doing a job- right or wrong? Only God really knows for sure, and I would not be surprised if God himself is somewhat confused with the state the world is in too. After all he gave us his son, and that was 2000 years ago, and we (mankind) are still making a mess of the environment and each other. May Peace find a place in all mankind's heart. I've got my red shirt ready for tomorrow... the girls at the office will laugh at this old man in a red shirt. Should be interesting. Guy Pellitier.

Someone once said "Wars are necessary, they help to decrease the overpopulation of the world". Unfortunately, that statement is mot far from the truth. In the four major wars of the last century, the Government Records indicate that 654,339 in our military in those wars were killed and 94,128 are listed as missing in action. Add to those numbers the soldiers lost by the enemy and the thousands of innocent men, women and children who were killed being the victims of collateral damage. Then you have to include the dozens of lesser wars and conflicts that took place during that period of time and we end up with a number that boggles the mind. Why do so many people have to die in order to have pease on earth. Do I think wars are necessary? My answer to that question is this: ONLY WHEN WE ARE ATTACKED FIRST!!! WE SHOULD NEVER BE THE ATTACKER!!! Right now there are a number of countries around the world with vicious dictators as cruel or more cruel than Hussein. Who will we attack next? I pray no one. Overpopulation of the world is an ongoing problem but the answer to that problem is not war. I pray that we humans, being the most intellegent creatures on earth, can find a more humane way of dealing with the world's problems.
