I agree completely with Charlie Daniels' letter. The media is liberal and anti-God in every way that I can see. My son, who is in Iraq now, says they would be better off without the media over there. And I too, pity the people who have no belief in God.
Are we back to the 70's silent majority on spiritual, conservative issues? Thank God for those who do stand up, speak up and not yet ready to shut up.

Mr. Daniels, I want you to know you are right. To these people that do not want to shove our beliefs on others. I think they missed what Charlie Daniels was trying to say. This country needs more like Charlie Daniels. We need more Fire and Brim Stone. I am not one to point and say the words I told you so, but there are laws that prevent prayers in schools and football games. This would have been a very effective letter had Mr.Daniels chose not to personally insult Mr. Newdow. Why do you feel the need to belittle someone, is it to force your beliefs on them? That would be one definition of a bully. In speaking your beliefs the way you did, you showed ignorance, not tolerance. Your message could have been delivered a lot better. Maybe then, I, along with many others, would not feel outraged by your way of stating your beliefs. No wonder people run from Christians. You are not showing a very Christian attitude. Have you not read about forgiveness? Or, separating the message from the messenger? Although I strongly disagree with Mr. Newdow's veiws, I am somewhat taken back by the level of hate that seemed to repeatedely surface in this commentary. I do not believe that God laughs at such pitiful views, but rather crys for the souls of the lost. Christ died on that cross for all to recieve salvation, He would not that any should parrish, even Mr. Newdow. I would go even as far to say mr. What Charlie Daniels said in his letter to Mr. Newdow is great. But God is not laughing, he is crying. After all Jesus went through for us, this man and others like him, are cause for great sorrow. We as Christians need to pray every day, and talk to them, try to bring them into the fold. Everyone is important. I am not aware of Charley Daniels unless it's the country singer but it makes no difference. I am in Mr. Daniels camp and agree with everything he has written. After what God has done with my life I find it incredible that people do not believe in him and shake my head in disbelief at the disbelief.If one lives a Christian life and at the end of time finds out there is not a God they have lost nothing but if a person does not lead a Christian life and the existience of God is real (which it is)an eternal existence in hell is not something I want. I agree about all the talk about not taking God out of ANYTHING....this country was founded under one God, and that's why it is still standing...........but isn't it just a little nonsensical to give an athiest such a venue and so much attention? It would seem that praying more against the powers that be as in Eph 6:10 would have much more bennifit. In view of the recent uproar by a few, namely the ACLU, regarding taking Christ out of Christmas, taking God out of our traditional pledges, removing the Ten Commandments from public buildings, I wrote a letter the editor of our local newspaper. It was well received by the public. This was my message: The day we as Americans can't stand up and support our values, our belief systems, as well as hold onto our long-standing traditions within the United States, then we may as well "fold 'em" (as in playing cards) because someone else will be calling the shots and it will not be a reason to celebrate. A few ARE trying to change our American values. It takes pure intestinal fortitude (guts) to stand up for our beliefs. The ACLU and other well-organized groups are hard at work trying to undermine our entire belief system and our traditions. By the time they get through dragging us down their rat hole, the upcoming generations will have no idea what America stands for or what basis American was founded upon, i.e., Christian beliefs and values, and the right to worship God. Speak out America! What you have to say is important. It is time we pay attention to this overwhelming situation. Complacency is detrimental to our lives. I have always been a fan of Charlie Daniels, his music and his moral values. is way past time that the Christians in America stop being "the silent majority" I think this last election proves that the people want leaders with moral values. It was the prayers of the silent majority that were answered. Anyone with half a brain knows that you don't take what the media says as the whole truth, most of the time there is a grain of truth in it and the rest is their opinion. Smart people keep looking for the rest of the story. Most of country music reflects the moral Christian values that this great country was built on, you just have to use your braun and weed out the others. Charlie Daniels wouldn't last a day in government because, as he said, he'd have to punch someone. But, the rest of us, as the SILENT MAJORITY, can keep on supporting and electing people who share our values. The only reason that man got his views out there is because WE LET HIM! All of us who know who is really in charge, know that, in the end, it is Jesus Christ who wins the final battle. There's no doubt, it's just a question of how quickly we will let the verbal minority drag us down. I, for one, will always know who MY LORD is. GOD BLESS AMERICA

After reading Charlie Daniel's open letter confronting atheism, I am gratified. But, Charlie is only one person. But,he happens to have a very nice forum from which to address the issue that we all hold so dear----our belief in God. I read some of the comments and I came to the conclusion that the open letter from Charlie elicited more from some of us than we might like to be known about ourselves. One thing is sure, we want our belief in God to be honored as much as the atheist wants for himself. It is easy for the atheist to state his case in freedom. But, he should realize that it is our Christian values, and the Christian values of our founding fathers, that makes it possible for him to openly state his case. We have the right to disagree with him but we should not condemn him for doing that. If we really want to change the issue, or maintain a staus quo, on the order that our founding father's intended, we must find the same courts that the atheists are finding and confront them there before they undo our founding father's intent for a Christian based government. Quite frankly, from what I have been able to determine, the atheists (posing as liberals) intend to dismantle every aspect of Christian/Judaeo features found attached in any way to our government. Their goal is to be able to get legislation passed in a Judeao/Christain free Congress that would not otherwise be possible. Unfortunately, they are intelligent and resourceful people who are out there ahead of us because they are working smarter than we have, so far. Our founding fathers were not perfect but they gave us something to work with and, I believe that they never dreamed that anyone would think to go against God's will. And, 86% of the Christian people doing nothing but voicing their belief in God is not going to make a dent in the atheists' legal achievements so far. The atheists has the edge on us right now and he knows it----and he is apt to keep it.

I think that a person that claims to be and athiest is a closet believer. They are afraid to come out that closet and surrender to GOD. We all should pray for them to have the strength to love Their God and come out of that closet. The light is on the outside and the light is the way.

I agree with Charlie Daniels. I went through and read all the comments and I never once found one from an athiest. AMEN!! I feel we should all pray for people who are lost, they say prayer is a powerful thing. I feel sorry and sad that there are people out there that don't believe in God Our Father, he is only obviouse if they would open their eyes to see it. These kind of people are blind and we Christians need to pray for them to see the light. "Please father, let these people see the light of your way, bring them out of the blindness they are in. In your name we pray, Amen." The media loves to talk about the bad things because that is what most people want to hear. They get more people watching bad news than they do with good news. I don't like watching or reading the news because it's stuff I don't want hear. It puts me in a down mood. All I know is I can not wait until the Lord comes and takes me home to a better place.

I am a devout Christian Grandmother who lost her only child two years ago. I am raising my 7 year old Granddaughter by myself. When I heard of prayers and the mention of God's name being forbidden in public schools, I was taken back. Where is this all going to lead? In the town where I live with my Granddaughter, we were driving along a very busy street when I observed a new store just recently opened. The store is a pornographic nightmare. As you drive by, there are mannequins in the window wearing red lacey undergarments, supposedly see through lingerie, etc. I pray to God that this nightmare ends. How can this country allow this depraved path of encouraging people to admire this filth for everyone to drive by and see and yet we cannot pray, mention God's name in school? The non-conformists of this country should wear it, eat it, sleep on it, drive it, do whatever a non-conformist needs to in order to be sure they haven't changed their warped life. Just LEAVE GOD OUT OF YOUR SICK PLANS AND LEAVE THE BELIEVERS ALONE!!!! You are only doing such harm out of boredom? Take pornography away from people, not God. We need to counter the lies and misconceptions in the print media by letters to the editors; we need to call our senators and representatives about moral issues we feel strongly about (abortion, same sex marriage, etc.) We need to protest either to TV stations or sponsors about filthy programming and we need to learn more about what our children are learning in school. I feel our nation is in a moral decline and if that is to be reversed, Christians must speak and act!

I wonder....Can an "Aussie" buy into this discussion?!! Here in Australia, we are being told that we should not celebrate Christmas or Easter or other Christian celebrations, for fear of 'offending' those people who choose to come here, mostly refugees from countries where God is not reognised. Just like America, our country and its laws are based on Christian principles, but the Government bows to the wishes of a small minority of non-Christians, who should be grateful for having a country in which they can freely worship. The sooner we, as Christians, stand up and be counted, the sooner your country and mine will receive the blessings that go with the sincerity of their beliefs. We have sat back for far too long and allowed people from other countries to come to our land, then dictate to us whom we should (or should not) worship. We talk about the words In God We Trust and prayer being taken out of schools and other places and the words Under God being taken out of the Pledge of Allegiance but can we do something to get these things back where they belong? Someone had to lobby the courts, etc. to get this done. I am not smart enough to do this but is there SOMEONE out there that is smart enough to work through these 50 states to get petitions maybe set up through all of the cities, towns and villages? If there was someone with enough power to work with a person from each state that could work with each county to get these petitions out to the public to sign? That is what needs to be done. We are letting a FEW people dictate to us what should be, but are there enough of us willing to stand up for what we believe and do something about it? I sure hope there is. February 20, 2005 I think that the government has gone to far in allowing schools and events to have the name of GOD removed to satisfy the needs of other people. I am one the majority of people and I say put prayers back in school and special events and let them there. The government listens more to a lesser majority and has removed the right of our own children to "Honor our God" in the right to say The Lords Prayer. Without prayer we are a lost nation. I believe that most of the persons who are being paid to write and/or who are contributing to the media are "wolves in sheep's clothing" to quote an old saying. Most of these persons are non-believers who would have us believe that they are speaking for those of us who just don't have enough "sense" to come in out of the rain. I have always loved Charlie Daniels the singer AND now I also love Charlie Daniels the man. Just tonight I sent an e-mail to ABC regarding the Webmaster of that station. The webmaster called the "bible an archaic book with many stories written by different people" to a gentleman who wrote him an e-mail criticizing a story line on "The Practice" regarding homosexuality. And the fact that they seem to try to push it down the public's throat. The webmaster also told him if he wanted to boycott the station, go ahead, he couldn't hurt the station. All American citizens need to start standing up and having our voices heard; BUT when a man like CHARLIE DANIELS speaks up at the expense of OFFENDING some of his fans--my hat is off to him. I agree that "under God" should never be taken out of the Pledge of Allegience. However, we do well to remember that the God of the Christian Faith is not always in lock step with the policies of the United States. The Christian God is the God of the poor but the policies of our government forsake the poor. The Christian God is the God of peace, but the policies of our government are arogant and reckless, and far too eager to make war. The Christian God embraces the outcast, but the policies of our government ignore the outcast. Christians need to be speaking out about the policies of our government that go against the moral values of the Christian Faith.

A powerful letter and I concur with what you said. I'm a retired R.N. and have seen a lot of people die, but one I'll never forget, was a very kind and interesting man in the nursing home. BUT, just minutes before he sank into a coma and died, he suddenly started screaming, "The fires of Hell, the fires of Hell, they're coming to get me", then he sank into a coma and died in a few minutes. I like to contrast this with a person, whose death I witnessed just a few months ago, and who lifted his hands up into the air just minutes before his death and said, "I'm ready, Lord, please come quickly and get me." He went out of this life with a smile on his face. It's time we take a stand against all the smut and evil one can find in the media today and put "in God we trust" back where it belongs. Interesting how people want to remove God & Jesus in any way they can - yet there is no legal contract that is enforceable without the date of Jesus birth on it (year 2005). Another interesting note - Why is it that some people say "God damn it!" instead of "Buddha damn it!" or "Confucius damn it!" or "Mohammed damn it!" or "some other religious leader damn it!"). Or, when someone says "Jesus!" in a derogatory manner, why not say "Buddha" or "Confucius" or "Mohammed"? Why do some people say "Go to hell!" - Why not say "Go to Siberia!" or "Go to Mars!" I agree with Mr. Daniels 100% but I wonder, does a letter like this reach Mr. Newdow? And so many other things are happening. Four people are going to trial because they were arrested for speaking the gospel at a gay rally. In Missouri a school superintendent was fired because he refused to take the ten commandments our of his school. We have a Senate filibuster going that is preventing conservative judges from being appointed. Judges that could help stop abortion and same sex marriages - not to mention putting God and prayer back in schools and the ten commandmants in federal buildings. The list is long. They don't realize that etenity in Hell is not something to look forward to. It has no back door where they can leave. None is more significant than the words Laus Deo atop the Washington Monument. The Separation of Church and State concept is basic to our Country's founding. Dear Mr. Danials; First off I want to say God Bless You emenslly, for you are a true American and if I am right a Man of God. Your letter touched me very much, and this is why. My younger brother says we don't need God for he has done nothing to influance our lives, he believes that Jesus was just a plain and simple man, nothing special about him. He further believes God created Homosexuals and he also believes in abortion at any stage, and he doesn't believe in public prayer of any kind. We have often had disscussions about this, and as I told him ,if he feels that strongly why is there a need for him to prove it to me, for I don't believe the way he does. God is the center of my life, I never know whats going to happen from 1 day to the next and I'm not supose to. One reason this nation is in such turmoil is the people who want God and prayer taken out of everything. I grew up where at school we started the day with prayer and Pledge to our great flag and singing those wonderful American songs and it sure didn't hurt me. I agree with most of the letter, but think Jesus would have said it with more love and compassion. The attitude that comes across in this letter is not going to change hearts and will probably push people away. It doesn't seem to acuratly reflect the Christ we both love.
I agree whole heartedly with the comments about our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. However, we as Christians must realize that God loves Michael's soul as he does each one of ours...it's his beliefs that are the problem. God is NOT the author of confusion and this man is truly confused. I agree so much with what Charlie Daniels said. People don't realize there are to many Christians to sit back and let them try to take pray away or One Nation Under God from the pledge of allegience. I know for myself, that me and my house will now and forever serve the Lord. People say they do not believe in God but when something happens what is the first thing that comes out of their mouth? Oh, my God, so that goes to show that deep down they do believe in God. They will never take God from us Christians, no matter what they do we will always carry him in our hearts and mind and soul. Why don't these people just form a group of their own and do what they want, worship the way they want and leave us Christians alone. I think the media is way out of line way too often--but I know the Lord will judge those harshly who lead others astray. Great letter, Charlie! People are only exposing their ignorance by making it a public issue that they are offended by references to God. WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you read any history, it's noted continuously that our fore fathers believed in, respected, and gave full credit to God for achievements made in our society and the formation of our great nation. The media reporting is slanted from the outrageous to the sleezy. Our nation was founded under God, however, as we "silent" majority keep quiet and allow the minority to dictate we are allowing evil to become the "norm'. How long do you think God will allow this. We see Him turning his face away from us each day - just read the headlines. But, far be it for the media to report the "good" citizen - it does not "sell". Instead, the media focuses on the bizarre, the depraved, and the outrageous as if it were to be desired for attention. God is the first and last thing that people should consider while planning their lives - after all you wouldn't have a life if God hadn't given it to you - as well as everything else that you have. You should start everyday by giving thanks to God for everything you have - - and end your day by giving thanks to God for everything that was brought to you on this day. Without God we are nothing. Today's media is so biased against the conservitive groups......they control to a point, what we see and read about in our world. For instance, we are always hearing about the negativity about war. War is hell. It is trying to make right, what is wrong. However, the news, newspapers don't show the smiles on the little Iraqi children as they move about freely and go to NEWLY built schools and such. We don't see the cities being rebuilt....they want us to just think this war is unjustified. One with morals and values....he represents honest, strength and integrity. What you see is what you get. He is a man who kneels before God and prays for our Country, our men and women who are fighting and yes, dying, for our freedom and freedom for the Iraqi people. Freedom comes at a price. I personally want to send my love and respect to all the men and women who are keeping us from harms way. I send my love and respect to all that have lost their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, cousins..friends and neighbors. I don't take their sacrifices lightly or for granted. Those who don't believe in our country and what she stands for, has the freedom..... freedom to leave. Go to another country and TRY to express your opinions! True, Mr. _ _ _ _ _ _ got his 15 minutes to show his ignorance,(frankly, I would be embarrassed to have my face on TV and make a total fool of myself as he did), and true the media builds this kind of pathetic story to it's limit. BUT, you have to realize... the newscasters say what they are told to say, in order to keep their jobs...whether or not they agree or disagree! Something everyone should keep in mind, is that Satan is the prince of the airways, and he is controlling what is viewed. Whether or not you believe what you hear and see in the media is of utmost importance. Must realize that 99% of the information is from the dark side. Charlie is so right. Mr. _ _ _ _ _ _ needs to reasess his thoughts about God. Eternity is a long, long time and I for one do not want to be without my Lord for even a second. Hopefully Mr. _ _ _ _ _ _ will be touched by the HOLY SPIRIT, and will have a change of heart. It will be pretty hot down there, and if Mr. _ _ _ _ _ _ likes playing Russian roulette, he definitely will be losing the best of all gifts, that of eternal life, sacrificially given to us, from our Lord Jesus. If the thought of taking God's name off of our currency, or deliting His name from the Pledge of Allegiance, or removing the 10 commandments from our children's classrooms makes a handful of people happy, then we should be praying for all of them.

Very well said Mr. Daniels. God has been, is now and forever will be. He created this universe and can take it away if He wants to do so. I am sure he is not pleased with a lot of people that live in it. But I know He is proud of those who speak out in His Name as you did. Thank you for taking a stand. I think God is crying, for it breaks His heart to see the sight man has become. You see He loved us SO VERY MUCH that He send HIS only SON to die in our place.. God has a sense of hunor yes. But when His Heart is braking, at the sight, That is before HIM. He created us to worship and fellowship with HIM. How sad that we can not seem to find the time.
